Kaupthing Edge Chaps/Bacs Transfers NEW discussion

£17500 Chaps initiated on the 7th October... it went from KE on the 9th (even though the account dated it the 8th!.. )

I left £100 pounds in the account, which now read as £80 due to the chaps payment.

Still awaiting money... have had no contact from ING apart from the email sent last Wednesday? saying that everything would be done by Friday :mad:

I feel I have been very patient so far, but am now starting to get annoyed..

My parents had their car written off in an accident the other week (I was with them when it happened). They needed transport asap, and as all my money was tied up in this fiasco, I couldnt help them out, and they have had to obtain an expensive bridging loan until the insurance money comes through.

thats exactly what I was told, the CHAPS requests went to Kaupthing head office that is now in administration.

I withdrew £35000 from my account on 8 oct and still have not received it on 21st oct. Ing promised me my money by 17th or at the latest today but there is still no sign of it at 1.30. I feel sure that I will not receive it by the end of today. When I ring up they assure me that I will receive my money but it takes at least 15 minutes to get through on premium rate. I do not know what to do now especially as I have £40000 frozen in Icesave.

What makes me think they did a deal with the clearing system:

Put them through as BACS, which explains why they told us Tuesday the money would arrive Friday.

Label them as CHAPS, so it looks like we care..

Just a note to say that I requested a BACS transfer at around 11am on Tuesday 7th Oct. It turned up via CHAPS some time after mid-day on Friday 17th Oct. So I've voted to say that it was lost, but turned up.

Hi I have just joined your forum but have followed it every day.

I havent heard of anyone getting their bonds broken yet, I asked for mine (21k) 4 days after taking it out and was informed it would be in my savings account the very next day (8th October) it wasn't, I phone every day and have this morning phoned both ING and Kaupthing to ask when it will be dealt with. The answer to this was it is in the hands of the administrators and as yet there is no set date when these will be dealt with. I would be intersted if anyone has a further update on this.

Remember how ING told us all on Friday that a lot of the payments might have missed our own bank's cut off time, but that they would all pop up on Monday morning?

Anybody seen any?

Maybe we should compile a list of ING's porkies, and give them scores for, say, imagination, originality, presentation, believability etc.
