Why have some accounts with transfers still outstanding had the £20 CHAPS payment paid back into them and some accounts haven't?
I've not had it paid back into mine - does this mean I'm further down the queue or that you don't know of the existence of my supposed transfer or does it have no significance at all?
Please post on here as soon as possible - it's making me nervous. Even if you don't know the answer and need to go and find out -please post that you have read this query - Thankyou
I don’t remember anyone receiving a £20 refund. I think some people are getting a little confused, not surprising during a state of panic:
If you transferred your money via BACS, there is no charge.
If you transferred your money via CHAPS there is a charge of £20, which is deducted from your KE account.
e.g.
Transfer £10,000 via CHAPS from KE. KE account shows 0.00
Arrives at linked destination account as £9,980.
Appearing that the destination account deducted the £20 but it was deducted at the KE end.
You have to go into the transactions list on your KE account to see the £20 deduction. It won’t show on your main statement.
I think the £20 refunds and interest with be refunded at a later date via BACS, to keep the costs down.
I’m only guessing but what else is there?

Just logged back on, and the first post I saw was Martin's. :T
Although I have zilch in my bank account, I am now living on my credit cards. But if the money doesn't come through before I have to pay these bills I will be in Dire Straights. (Not the Group)
I along with everyone else here applaud Martin and the rest of the MSE team for keeping up to date with our plights. :T
Quickly scanned through posts since I logged off, did anyone get any money transferred today?0
