TMK...I only look at my kids and I cry..:rotfl:..Lauren was playing out with friend last week and should have been back at 6...this was before hour went back...Now I've made it 4.30 cause gettin dark quicker...She was 10 mins late and I told her off...not shouting or anything but I never have to tell her off as she is just an angel...It turned out she had run home without her boots on because they were too high and cut her nail on her foot but I didnt know this till her dad told me...I sat her on my lap and apologised and was so full up and she was crying ..I always say sorry to them as well when I'm wrong..My mom and dad would think nothing of coming home from the pub and throwing the dinners at each other that we had made for them...I will never let my children witness anything like that...Hubby kisses me goodbye when he goes to fetch a loaf of bread and the kids go Urggggggh dads kissing mom....:rotfl::rotfl:
You know Stressed nothing at all matters in everything but the kids...They are so precious.....:D

just received this e-mail from a mate

    REVENGE ON THE TELESALES PESTS
    Three Little Words That Work!!
    (1) The three little words: 'Hold On, Please...' Saying this,
while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call somuch more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt. Then when you eventually hear BT's 'beep-beep-beep'tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset ....You have efficiently completed your task. These three little words could help eliminate telephonesoliciting.

    (2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one onthe other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone. This technique is then used to determine the best time of day for a'real' salesperson to call back and get someone at home. What you can do after answering: If you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that
dialled thecall and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame notto have your name in their system any longer!!

    (3) When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail foreverything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope. Most of these come with postage-prepaid return envelopes, right?
It costs them more than the regular postage 'IF' and when they are returned. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these coollittle, postage-prepaid return envelopes. Send an advert for your local chimney sweeper to American Express ... They might need one!Send a pizza coupon to HSBC ... In case their canteen packs up. You get the idea. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them back their blank application form ... After all, it is their form!If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you return. You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them, and it is their envelope after all ... You are just returning it!! The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lotof their own junk back in the post, but folks ... We need to OVERWHELM them, in order to stop them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it ... Twice!Let's help keep Royal Mail busy.Sincethe Royal Mail are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, let's help them so they will not need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea! If enough people follow these tips, it will work ---- maybeyou'll get very little junk mail anymore. THIS JUST MIGHT BE ONE E-MAIL THAT YOU WILL WANT TO FORWARD TO YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!

Wow, do you think the great man was listening :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Much better!!

Redbull ~ love the advice about the phonecalls, will def try them out with My Child!!!:D

Easter - you hit the nail on the head hun. Only my dad wasn't a drinker, he just worked all the time, never saw him, never hugged him until he got much older and couldn't defend himself!!!:rotfl:Mum was an alcoholic & I'd come home from school, couldn't get in the house coz she was lying drunk somewhere, didn't really want to get in coz she was very abusive when drunk and I never knew whether I'd find her alive or dead. I learned to cook at around age 8 as I helped keep the secret from my dad. We said mum lived to 82 coz she pickled herself, but I loved her so much and still do. OH is an alcoholic and neither of us drink, me through choice and him through necessity. My kids will NEVER NEVER experience any of that.

Blimey TMK We got so much in common..:rotfl::rotfl: It was my dad that was the Alcoholic..He got killed in a hit and run accident in Wolverhampton when i was 16..A car hit him as he stepped off the footpath drunk and he made it back to His B&B Where he was staying and was petrified of hospitals and bled to death in his room...I was very close to my dad..He was abusive to my mom and we think thats what may have bought her Parkinsons on with hits to the head all the while...He was a good dad to us but I understand it was the drink that made him act the way he did because when he was sober he was wonderful..But it's left a horrible Paranoia in my life ..I'm always worried when Reece goes drinking with his mates in case he steps off a curb like my Dad did..Dont like people drunk by the kids..I like a drink but know when to call it a day..

  • Like someone said earlier, so many on here have their stories. Perhaps that is why everyone is so gentle and supportive of one another. I have lurked for so long until I felt safe enough to post and really felt the goodness and strength in this community of compers. Makes us good compers as our endless optimism for something better keeps us entering where others would throw in the towel!!

It makes me sad to know so many good people have been through tough times, but glad that here is somewhere we can be who we are and find support and friendship. You are all amazing.
But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!
