ooh, it feels nice to be off.
Although I don't work Mondays - this is the first one I've not been asked to work or had teaching in the morning since the beginning of September!
Which means I should be AQA'ing like mad today.......oh well, there's all day and evening to do that.........;)"Stay Wonky":D

Well it says that Elliot will point to his eyes and nose when you ask him to - I could cry just typing that, my clever little boy - I had no ideabecause I don't know to say and do these things with him
and he hasn't yet had the confidence to join in with the other babies when they are having playtime with water/sand
and watches them paint but doesn't join in
what have I done, I shouldn't be at work, I should be at home showing him how to point to his eyes
you just need to relax and go with the flow hun...it's always worked for me;)
I used to feel silly when DS was wee talking away and playing silly games.....I left it to my Mum:o
But when DD was born i chatted to her all the time about anything and everything.....regret it now though, she wont shut up:D
You should just have a messy time at home...let him toddle about in his vest and play with sand or a basin of water or some finger paints:T
Stuff the mess....think of the fun:j
I used to sing silly songs and do the actions as well.....Like "head, shoulders, knees and toes"
and the hokey cokey:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Daph, it's perfectly normal to feel this way hun.
I'm lucky in that I work at DS's school, I see him a lot during the day, yet I still feel guilty because I'm not at home to get him ready for school, I feel bad on mornings like today, when he forgets to take something really important. I wasnt here, to make sure he had everything.
While we're on the subject, do any of you have any tips to help a VERY forgetful 10 year old remember thingsIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Iused to love 'Do Your Ears Hang Low' with the actions of the exaggerated version and then the quiet version..........made me who I am today....:rotfl:
How about some kind of chart spud with the 'essentials' on? Really colourful, he makes it with cut out stars, stickers, bits from magazines and glitter perhaps? He can take ownership of it as he created it and pin it on the wall somewhere to use?
As I don't have kids though, that could be wide of the mark so possibly ignore me....:o"Stay Wonky":D

It took Natasha a couple of months to come out of her shell at nursery - some babies are naturally shyer than others.
And as for learning things at nursery that you didn't realise he could do, it's quite heart-breaking the first couple of times it happens, but I find I really like it now that she is learning new things from other people as well as me.
I totally understand what you mean about not knowing to say and do those things with him - but you will be teaching him millions of things without even realising. The fact that they teach him a few extra things is a positive thing, not a negative one.
Sorry if I'm rambling xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hey DD, you need to relax a bit honey, otherwise you'll send yourself into a nervous breakdown. Your little lad is getting the best of both worlds, he does things with you at home which is different to the things he does in nursery. So, he is getting an interesting and varied life. And that's great! Trust me, it's a lot harder on us to leave them than it is on them. In my experience once you are out of the door the kids couldn't care less, they are happy to play and have fun.:A

Cat, I tried ebaying a load of books and dvd's in September, but after all the fees I ended up making a loss - didn't help that two packages went missing in the post. I'm going to offer some to my book group tonight, and then try the second hand shop on the outdoor market.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
