Morning peeps
Was busy yesterday mooching round birmingham shopping and then having to be a domestic goddess (unsuccessfully I might add).
Sorry to hear about everyones sad news at the mo. :grouphug: I am a bit sad as my work colleague rang me on Friday morning to tell me she has breast cancer. She is 10 years younger than me with 3 children the youngest being the same age as Chloe...
Prognosis is good but she has to have lumpectomy and chemo and radiotherapy....just brings your own mortality to mind really.
Sorry i seem to have put a downer on the day already, I didn't mean to......

morning all
Been celebrating all weekend cos on Friday we settled Wayne's Welcome Finance loan and this brings our DFD forward to February 2009:j :j :j
We decided to celebrate by buying two curtain poles for the living room and putting up the uber-long curtains at the window and door; at least that was the plan:o. Old curtain pole & baton had been screwed into the wall with 7inch screws (so that took an age to remove), we go the first holder screwed in but the second not a chance. After four hours of Wayne drilling, swearing and cursing we've opted to get a builder in to drill into the masonry, put up a new baton and then put up the curtains for us.
It's sooooooooooooo windy here I'm dreading going to work.
Sammy - :grouphug: to your friend and I hope the prognosis remains good for her.

Morning cat
LOL at the putting up curtains antics...I have to admit neither me or OH are very good at DIY and I have loads of unfinished jobs that just need someone to come and do.... I just have no idea who to get in to do them....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Good Morning everyone:j
Sorry to hear about your friend SammyI really hope things go well for her.
I bet the air was blue in your house yesterday Cat:rotfl:
Luckily my OH is an angel with DIY things and managed to put up a curtain at the front door to help with insulation for the winter (sorry to rub it in Cat):D our front porch is so cold you could lay someone out in there:rolleyes:
Very wet and windy here today but not very cold.
(((HUGS))) for those struggling today (including my OH):o
Have a happy Monday everyone. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Morning all. I'm just about to run to work (CAB) but just wanted to stop by and say hi and send hugs to those who need them this morning :grouphug:
I've got my income support/benefits interview at the jobcentre this morning and am bricking it. I hate the unknown and my life basically rests in their hands... _pale_

Morning all. Pants weather here, but not cold (although I haven't stepped out into the wind and rain yet!)
OH is off to see Oasis tonight with the tickets I got him for his birthday. I wasn't too fussed about seeing them so I said he could take his son if he wanted, who is a huge Oasis fan, so they are going together. Suits me, I'm going to treat myself to a cheap bottle of something and possibly something chinese related
I STILL have the £25 voucher AQA sent me. I exchanged it for an Evans voucher to get a couple of bits for my holiday, but after dying a few existing bits and buying a couple of really cheap bits on Ebay, I haven't needed to spend it. Wish I'd got Asda vouchers now...might sell in on Ebay after my holiday perhaps."Stay Wonky":D

Morning all.
My sister's in town and she's helping me to clean the flat. Depression combined with the ME this summer meant it's got into a right state. Hopefully when she's gone I'll even be able to have people round! We've done the bedroom (although she now wants to clean the skirting boards) and it's looking better than ever. Today's going to be hard though, I'll be sorting out books to give away, and she wants me to get rid of a lot more than I'm prepared to.
Also just phoned the student loans company and my grant should be in my bank account tomorrow, which is great because I've been waiting over a week for it.
Sorry to hear of people having a hard time, hugs to you all.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Just
(((((((hugs for everyone))))))))
I wont be here long:cool:
I MUST do some ironing....yes the same ironing I was talking about yesterday:rolleyes:
i didnt do any of it at all:o:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
phew
Journey to work was a nightmare and getting parked in my allocated parking zone was... stressfull. the car parking team have had a right stroppy email off me this morning.
The air was VERY blue yesterday. Lou, don't suppose you fancy sending your OH down to me to do the DIY? It was to put up long lined curtains the help with the draft coming through the 'sun' room into the living room, but for now we've stapled some other curtains up (but this is a temporary measure).
Ames - good luck with house cleaning hun and done give any books away; sell them on ebay or amazon!
Keren - enjoy your bottle of something tonight. Ifound a bottle of £1.20 fizzy non-alcoholic stuff in asda that looks like a light rose and has a nice taste so that's become my 'let's pretend I'm drinking alcohol when I'm not' drink!

ooh, Cat, that might do the trick - I still have cherry brandy in the fridge from when we went away in March. I could spend £1.20 and add a good slug (or 3) of the cherry brandy - what a star you are
I have 2 pairs of trousers to return to Evans. I was going to take them to the store and then spend my voucher but I really can't be faffed to go to town. Think I'll just return them in the post and at the same time pop into the little Asda next to the post office."Stay Wonky":D
