Morning all.
So sorry for your loss Candygirl. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Today I am playing catch up, loads of washing to be done ( but weather is rubbish in Kent ATM, all cloudy and grey )
I went and bought 18 jars of 9p mint sauce yesterday, so need to get them rinsed and scrubbed for my HM jam to go in Xmas hampers.
Hvaing a week off, no canine clients in, so going to start the crimbo hampers, and baking for the foodies hampers. Should be fun!

Good morning all
Happy Birthday to Penelope Penguin :bdaycake: Hope you have a fantastic day, what ever you're up to.
Rosehip picking yesterday was a success, although I don't think my poor ripped to shreds hands feel quite as happy about it all.....we managed to pick nearly 2k of the little blighters and they are currently steeping away for wine purposes (after being topped and tailed - my god that took a long time). DH found a reciepe for hawberry wine (and we saw the hawberry sauce that Hugh FW made on River Cottage Autumn) so we'll be off picking those on Thursday when DH has a day off.
I've been ruthless this morning, got 2 large crates and filled them with everything from DD's rooms that wasn't in the right place....I've stripped their beds, dusted and hoovered their rooms and they won't get any clean bedding until everything is in it's rightful place
Swished and swiped all through and got some mixed beans out of the freezer for a bean/pasta/tomato SC bakey thing....it's just onions, peppers, tin of toms, some passatta, mixed beans, few herbs and garlic and bung in the SC for a few hours...an hour before serving I add half a pint of boiling water (to make the sauce runny) and then add pasta....the extra water makes the pasta cook nicely.....tis scrummy and cheap as chips.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Extreme moneysaving Aussie, but how do you cook it?;)Jan
:rotfl:I meant to say I had a laundry basket full of carrots I need to blanch & freeze.
Wasn't going to pop in again today but saw that it's PPen & Miss Cas birthday. Hope everyone enjoys their day.
Pooky I do that a bit too in the SC. The secret ingredient is italian herbs.
catz I never knew not adding salt to food may lower your bp. I don't have high bp but DH does at times. Let us know if it works. Not sure if he'll like it though, he does like his salt.
charlies'Mum Congratulations Granny. Two under 2. Keep up the iron.
I had 3 under 3 but I was young and fit then.
Taplady That recipe sounds nice. Post it if it is.
Candygirl Thinking of you.
Well DH sounds like he's out of the shower so my turn. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Thanks for that - I still get comments that I don't look any older than when I was 18:rotfl: I've had a lovely day, so far. My family bought me a chicken bead for my bracelet, my in-laws a Gordon Ramsay cookery book (recipes he cooks for family and friends - some great recipes, and no swearing
) and a beautiful ornament for my kitchen from my favourite Board Guide
DH has bought and will be cooking steak for tea, and he's put a bottle of Jacob's creek sparking chardonnay pinot noir in the fridge (my second favourite after Veuve Cliqot  ).
Thank you for all the wishes today, and the support from yesterday :A . I realise that I'd got the wrong end of the stick regarding some of the negative comments, so apologies for that. I think I was feeling a bit fragile, as there was a post from an OS Daily regular (since deleted) blaming me personally for the upset, and another post, also deleted, the reason for deletion being a spiteful (and I believe totally untrue) comment aimed at me personally. I've now put it all behind me and plan to move forward :j
Old Style today will be knitting my fingerless gloves, tapestry, and reading PD James's latest (borrowed from the library).
Have a great day, all of you :grouphug:
Happy Birthday Miss Cas :bdaycake:

Hello everybody :hello: and :grouphug: to Candygirl.
Well today I have, er, not been going into work :j My spies tell me that the managers are  but I'm  . I've already been on the one of my transcription websites and done some work - in my dressing gown - WOW - that's liberating!!! Washing on and lunch for me will be bubble and squeak using the remains of the veg from yesterday's dinner. I've also put our mirror doors from the other house on freecycle so let's see if I get any nibbles. Mr Rage has actually told me to take it easy for a couple of says - ah well, if he insists :rotfl: I found a couple of pork chops in the freezer yesterday so I can't decide whether to do somerset pork bake thing or something pasta bakey - oh the decisions will be endless........ :rolleyes:But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Afternoon all, not too much in the way of OSing for me today, made all the packed lunches last night, stripped all the meat from yesterdays roast for tonights tea, just need to make some form of bubble & squeak up from the left over veg when I get in.
Birthday greetings to Penelope Penguin & Miss Cass.

Morning all(just) Happy birthday PP .
Hugs to (((Candygirl)))
My main post yesterday got eaten up somewhere- hope todays doesn't disappear.
Well, the dogs been out and I've unpacked my T delivery. There didn't look much to show for £90  I did include some meds in case anyone else gets the lurgy, and some tins for my store.
Last week I went through my wardrobe sorting out,and I've decided to do some alterations to some things instead of getting rid.I got a dinky little sewing machine a while back at Mr t's, reduced to £25,used it a couple of times and I'm quite pleased with it.Also last week got a couple of skirts at the charity shop,so will adjust them-one was a brand new Per Una still with label on :j .So thats what I'm doing this aft.DH was complaining yesterday that his 'office ' is being taken over with cardmaking and other craft stuff,so I said innocently that I'd do it downstairs if he wanted (I admit I am messy)No,no,just tidy it up a bit then I can get to the desk he said hurriedly.
HM tomato soup for my lunch shortly,I made a loaf yesterday.
Tea is sausage casserole in the Remoska. They do like toad in the hole ,but my last two were a bit of a disaster.Got some leftover veg to put in now I've got my new shopping so it won't go to waste. What I still can't get over is how little rubbish i put in the bin these days- usually one bag from the swing bin in the kitchen and thats it.
Take care everybody.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
