Argos did not come out in 1999, i was 12 when i seen it first and now 25. So gotta be late 80's early 90's the first one come out, if not earlier.0

It is annoying that they don't display full information etc. about the policy, and the "conditions" in a readable sized font on the posters - isn't it a bit silly putting at a font like this on a sign at least 2 metres away behind the counter?

When they opened the door, we went straight to the self service kiosk, typed in the reservation number that we had from reserving on line, paid and collected our goods in six minutes. No-one from the original queue had yet even had their order finished on the till, never mind brought up to the store. We got some strange looks when we walked out with our goods through the queue snaking out of the door.
My only criticism of the self serve kiosk is that you cannot put in more than one reservation number so you either have to do them separately or queue up. As they are doing the voucher offer at the moment, we had to queue up last week as I wanted six reserved items.
Can you only reserve one item per reservation number then? So if you have two reservations what do you do? Also, does the self-serve pay machine take mastercard? I thought it only took Argos's own card.....

I've been quite disappointed in Argos lately, after years of good service.
We had to make THREE visits in one week! Computer chairs broke, kettle wasn't working and a chest of drawers was missing three parts!!
Self service tills are great, when they are actually working!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

No, it takes all credit cards as shown on the screen "Press here to begin". I think they tend to scroll along the bottom.
The self-service tills in my store have a chip-and-pin reader for a chip-and-pin card, and a swipe one (the card is inserted and taken into the machine for processing, before being returned to you out of the slot) for non-chip and pin cards.

Thanks. I have reserved two items so have two reservation numbers - how do I go about using the self-service till, do I have to do two transactions?

Last time I visited Argos and used the self-service tills, they only allow one reservation number per transaction. So, in answer to your question, Yes, you will need to complete two transactions - inserting your credit card twice, collecting two transactions worth of receipts, and being quick to ensure they don't call your first item whilst completing your second transaction!
Thanks, tigermatt0 -
Argos might hate all of you?
LOL
That was a Joke!0 -

Thanks Tigermatt. One of my items is a jewellery item - I take it this will cause many complications................................??? Will I have to go to the jewellery section to collect it even if it is reserved and paid for via self-service till?
