Argos is a godsend when you need something quickly.

This thread was started in 2005!

I like Argos (and I don't work for them!).

I hate Argos as of tonight! Delievery time 7am - 8pm what time did they 'attempt' to deliver? 7:58pm but in fact they never did. No-one came to the door, no-one left a card, no phone call to ask where our flat was (like most people do) - apparently their couriers don't have mobile phones !!!!!!! They can't turn around as the depot won't get info till tomorrow.

Apparent delivery again tomorrow but of course no-one will be in tomorrow. We live in flats above shops - no where safe to leave it.

Funny how call centres close at 8pm too

In life, you generally have to make a trade-off between cost and service. I'll put up with the Argoses, Lidls etc of this world if it'll save me a few quid.

And that's the only reason I shop there - and, tbh, that's not very often!

My local Argos store aren't very good at this so called "no quibble". They wouldn't take back some light bulbs because the packet was opened but it needed to be opened to see if they fitted or not.

    tigermatt :)

This reminds me that the ONLY time I have ever claimed redress under SOGA was in Argos. DS bought a fishing set. It was cheap and was rubbish - you couldn't even cast the line SO I took it back (because I knew darned well they would fob him off, him being 15 at the time) and asked for a refund. Was told I couldn't have one, because it was open. I replied that as it was 'Not fit for purpose' I would like a refund please...and I got one.
Mind you I also told DS not to buy cheap rubbish again;)

Doesn't matter HOW old the thread is...still relevant IMO!

  • Some of the complaints in here are daft though, even the OP is a bit silly. Of course a different colour Furby is going to have a different code, that's basic stock control.

And a 4 month old TV would be sent to repair anywhere you went, not just Argos.

Actually it's quite common for items with different colour variations to have the same code. They tell you one will be sent out from the back, and if you don't like it you can reject it and get another one out. Mind you it's also possible to ask to look at stuff before you buy.

who knew you could get the actual tracking number to your delivery with the courier? I didn't untill Argos just told me! You have to ask Argos for it though.

It is annoying, but "hate", really?

Well seeing as I have nothing but complaints about them then yes. There is little to no communitcation between Argos and it's customers.

The courier driver just lied about attempting to deliver. We have big metal steps out side and with two very heavy boxes we would have heard them plus by the time I got outside I would have seen them leaving.

Sorry just in a rather annoyed mood at present.
