NF..I had the same fears as you, but for slightly different reasons! My dress is made from silk, and is a column style dress, with small train. Its quite heavily embellished too, and couldn't find anything on the Landy site similar to the one I tried on (Jenny Packham). I sent them loads of pics, and ordered it in ivory silk - same as the JP one.I'll let you know what it's like as I got an email today to say it's going to be ready in approx 12 days!!! Am SOOOO excited!
Will let you know what its like......

    Hi Hels,

My daughter has just received a silk charmeuse swatch from Milly and is a bit concerned that it's a bit thin.
How was the silk from Landy once your dress was made?
I think it's very difficult to imagine how it will look when your only holding a 2 inch square swatch!
I'm assuming that yours was charmeuse silk?
    thanks

Hi guys, I have tried on the Maggie Sabelle today and have received pics from Landy of the same dress. the only trouble is that on the original the beading down the back is stunning and goes all the way down either side of the lace up back and on the Landy Pic I cannot tell what the beading is like as the picture goes a little fuzzy when zoomed in on. I know it won't be exactly the same but am curious what it looks like.
  • Hi all,

I am looking at buying my dress from Landy and was just wondering if anyone knew if the dresses that have trains have a fastening on the back like retail wedding dresses so you're not dragging it around on the floor all night? ANy help would be great x
  • I dunno about Landy, but I know Sweetsend don;t do this and put a blooming ribbon hook to hold it by your wrist. Not very elegant. You would either have to get some bustling done by another dressmaker, or get someone to pin it up with safety pins.

My one from Landy doesn't, but a friend is going to do it for me. There is no way I could have it down all night x
  • Hi guys:

Just to say I have a landy material chart that I got a few months back which I no longer need. In true MSE style I'm now selling it on if someone wants to save a few quid and buy it from me rather from Landy!

    £10 plus £2p&p.

    PM me if you're interested!
  • Hi Kelda_shelton
    I have pm'd u xx
  • Hi All,

I have ordered my bridesmaids dresses and wedding dress from landy but they have been stuck in customs for last 2 days! Spoke to DHL and customs arent sure are they going to clear them or not - anybody else had similar problem???
  • Finally got dresses from customs and only had to pay €10 customs fee - wedding dress is great, bridesmaids dresses great and flower girl dresses are spectacular! For anybody who is a bit nervous I would really recommend Landy all the dresses were great.
