Hello!
I've read the whole thread over the last couple of days about Landy dresses and it seems that everyone is pretty pleased with them.
I am in a funny mood about wedding dresses and I can get a bank loan to buy a lovely 2k dress I've seen, but the idea makes me feel sick with fear. However, I also feel sick with fear in ordering one from the other side of the world and then not liking it! If I was to get a Landy dress this is the one I want:

Has anyone had this or a similar dress made up? What were the main differences between the real one and the Landy one?
I'm not getting married til April, and my idea was to perhaps order a Landy one ASAP and if it's not right, it still gives me 6 months to get another dress. Do you think that this would be too soon to order a Landy dress, or would it start to discolour? My other idea was to order one bridesmaid dress to check quality asap and then decide, or do you think this would muddy the waters as bridesmaid dresses aren't like wedding dresses?
Apologies for all the questions, but you ladies seem to be the best people to ask!Thank you for your time

I've just found my venue for July next year and it's gorgeous and I'm very excited. I am now wanting to order my dress from Landy. The only thing i'm bothered about is that like most brides I want to lose some weight (about half a stone which will take a couple of months for me.). Should i try and lose the weight now and then do the measurements or just do the order now and have to have it altered later?0

i would wait and lose the weight first!
ideally i need to lose 4stone, but i will be happy with 2! I have given myself until February to lose the weight and then maintain and i dont get married until october next year. I am ordering my dress around march april time.
good luck.,xwould love to win an ipad!

Getting a corset back will help allow for any weight changes also.0

Hi girls,
I think I know why my daughter can't settle on a dress! Firstly we had the whole thing where we were searching for Maggie Sottero's Belle only to find it was old collection and there was no longer a sample available, now, after a long conversation with her I find that she has a picture of a dress by a US designer that she found on the internet. The website says it is stocked in London but the shop doesn't stock the designer anymore. She can't try it so discounted it but all the dresses she loves (like the Jenny Packham) are similar in style. However every time she logs on to look at the dress pictures she always looks at this one first. She's now decided that since she asked Landy and Milly if they could make the Packham dress (Landy said they couldn't) she would ask them if they could make this one, she wasn't sure if they could because there is jewel detail on the front on the back. We've just heard back from Landy and they can do it! €200 which is great!
I am assuming they looked at the jewel detail before quoting and are sure that they can do this. Landy don't send pics so we just need to be sure about this as it's a major part of the dress.
I'm not allowed to put a pic of the whole dress as this is probably THE one;) but I can put a pic of the jewel detail:rolleyes:
What do you think, would the jewels be a problem?0 -
Thats lovely hun, you ladies are very brave ordering from abroad like this. I am slowly coming round to the idea though, I don't get married til June 2010 and have lost 2 stone in weight only 3 stone left to go lol. :rolleyes:0
