well, I am about to take the plunge and order my dress from Landy this week. I've got a seamstress who will be measuring me up tomorrow and then will be putting in the order!

I'm getting married on November 7th so have left it as long as I can to let the inches drop off (!) but have conceded that I really need to order it now. Hope I've left enough time.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread as it's really reassured me that I'm (hopefully) doing the right thing...

Eeeee! It's so exciting!! Wish me luck!!

Ooh I have another question (I can see this being a running theme until the panic has subsided) - do you think I will need hoops for this dress? I didn't when i tried the 'real' one on in the shops.

The code number is HS0130 (I can't pop a link on as i am on h2b's work laptop and dont want him to see it in the history)

Any help would be gratefully received... sorry to be a pain!! :)

I would have thought so but you'll only need the width at knee height. Opt for full net petticoat or 1 hoop with net overlay.

Nooooo, defo not the 2nd one. Because your gown is princess/a line, the width is graduating from the waist/hip area. With a meringue type gown you have instant fullness at the waist. Option 2 is better for this.

    gorgeous dress rebekah.

becb1- if you are still planning on losing weight make sure you order a lace up back as you'll be able to pull it in if needed.

I'm still not sure on my dress! LOL. I took out the hoop and tried on again at the weekend my sister tied me in and stuff. I think the skirt still looks a little odd and the back you can see some flab popping out!!

Have you got the correct heels on with this rebekah cos it's looking too long!! The shape of the skirt looks fine to me. The top hoop needed to go most definately but you may need some "fluff" at the bottom to lift it and keep the fullness. When you try it on again, get someone to take the hemline in both hands about shoulder width apart. Give the skirt a good shake in one single motion and then it should lay/spread out on the floor.
Doesn't look like you've laced it correctly sweet. x
