i ordered my dress through landy and as much as i am happy about it,i would say if you have tried your dress on in a shop and you love it! get it from them if you can

the dresses are made lovely and the material is good quality.

what i would say is if you want a dress with say swarovski crystals etc you will have to tell them what you mean,i did and my dress came with sequins and other beading which i am having all taken off and crystals put on,but i still got a bargain.

also make sure you have seen your dress you want in the flesh BEFORE you order on a picture on the web as i have made a mistake in what i thought with some of the detail,mine cannot be altered as it embroidered on.

all in all though ,go for it as you will receive a bargain and a well made dress,with very good communication.

i am getting married in october 2009!!! so looking at dresses and everything!!! found mine, however I need to make measurements, now girls can you please help me on that? where do I go to do measurements???? do I need a professional or can my friends do it for me? how did you do it?

Hi!

This is a link to the page on landy's website that instructs you on measurements. I haven't got round to that part yet but they do recommend that you get a professional to do it as if it is a custom made dress then it is non-returnable if it doesn't fit. I'm sure some of the girls on here have had friends/relatives do their measurments so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give their advice.

Littlelouna - I got a friend to measure me and other than the length I was luckily a standard size - would say that if you're not a standard size to get a dressmaker to do it for you.

mookybargirl - I bought from the ebay shop (and got cashback :rotfl:) - I think they are one and the same - the website has the price in euros so no idea if they are the same as I didn't know the website existed until I had got my dress

you have to pay customs import duty and vat on these don't you. what sort of amounts have you all had to pay please

i am having my dress which is from landy altered by adding crystals,and the dressmaker seamstress said its quite well made but just wanted to let everybody know that it actually isnt boned at the sides etc,she is doinf that for me,also mine had quite bad stains on it so maje sure you get it proff cleaned.
just a few points i have learnt from my dress.hope this helps someone who is thinking of buying from landy,maybe you could add that you want it fully boned ??

I didn't. Mine came to 90 pounds including delivery and was customs-free.
