I am also sorry you had problems with landy, i ordered my wedding dress from landy and i cant beleive how fantastic it is, i have had lots of contact with her about my dress prior to and after ordering from her i reckon you should give her another chance to make your bridesmaid dresses as you know your self you will struggle to find anyone here to make your dresses to such a high quality for the money. I get married in august i hope to order bridesmaid dresses around march time but saying that i do have 5 bridesmaids to purchase dresses for so i cant afford to pay prices requested frommost bridal shops !!!!!!!

Hi all, your story sounds very much like mine. I'm getting married in Aug09 and got my dress early incase I didn't like it, and I love it so much, i felt like a princess in it and it was just the dress I dreamed of and it fitted perfectly, I also got the hooped petticoat from them and it all come to a grand total of £170 and its gorgeous. I have also been back in touch with them and they are doing my bm dresses (5 as well) and also all the mens cravatts as I want them to be excact matches of the bm dresses. I have noticed that Landy is starting to get a bit of negative feedback on here but going on my experiences I would recommend them 100 %.

Thanks Horace, to be honest though, I was very happy with the quality of the dresses, just the awful communications and the fact that they made promises they couldn't keep, if they had said in the first place that they couldn't have dont it in time that would have been fine! I finally received said dress on yesterday, have to say its lovely, so sad that its not going to be worn though

I havn't heard back from them since friday so not sure what kind of discount they would give honeypop, like you say if you have to pay for trackable delivery back maybe a chargeback wouldn't be worth it? Unless thats not how that works?

Glad your having a good experience with them Vicky, have to say I was until about a month ago! Marchish should get them to you in plenty of time

Just wondering if there's anything else I can say to them to get them to respond positively? They havn't admitted fault yet apart from offering me a discount on my next dress (no good) and saying sorry

That's why I didn't go down the Landy route, I think all the Landy dresses I have seen on here have looked wonderful but the whole copyright thing just doesn't sit right with me. But each to their own.

Well, I've been lurking on this part of the forum for about 18 months now - since me and him set our wedding date - which is April 4th!

I bought one beautiful dress in a wedding size 12 but it's totally a tiny size 10 which I THOUGHT I was going to be able to diet my way into but I've had a terrible year healthwise and I've had to face the fact that it just ain't happening. So, after much dilemma, as I really didn't want to have to fork out more money, (which I haven't really got as the wedding is proving to be sooo expensive) I've gone ahead and ordered a bigger dress from Landy - about half an hour ago!

I had emailed them yesterday to enquire about measurements etc as I'm desperately trying to lose weight and got a reply back this morning, which made me feel reassured enough to place the order. I then emailed them to ask if they could let me know how things were progressing (as they'd originally quoted me 60 days, which is cutting it a bit fine) and Ivan emailed back almost immediately, saying that they'll start the dress now so it'll arrive mid-February.

At this stage, I don't care if it's not perfect - it's a glitzy dress so any imperfections will hopefully go unnoticed - I just want a princessy dress that fits me!

Oh dear - I need to go and have a lie down now! :eek:

Hi all, my dress arrived 5 weeks after purchase, made to mesure to my exact measurements, from the design of my choice (not from their catalogue). I am SO SO SO SO happy with it, I honestly cannot describe how pleased I am with it - and the service was exceptional!! I'm so glad I went down this route as I would not have been able to buy a ready made size as my measurements differ alot. I am over the moon!!!!! I could do with losing a little weight now as it was a perfect fit when I tried it on and I've put on a bit of weight over the holidays I can't wait til my wedding day!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the advice about ordering from Landy. Im really considering ordering from them but not for a while as wedding isnt until 2011 so ill keep reading up on here for more nice recommendations
