Think I might curl up on the couch with my ideal homes complete guide to christmas whilst I wait for Beth to arrive.

I've got this, and the christmas magazine. Buy them every year as soon as I see them.

Well, I've managed two laundry loads, one was bedding, fabressed (sp) the matress but still need to vaccum it and sorted through the mad pile of duvets I've been accumulating on the wardrobe. Also washed some pots, and preped stuff for tea so I don't have to worry about it later. And for me time I'm watching an asian movie called the banquet. Must remember to put the bed back together again, or I'll go to bed and need to do it then (been there, done that)

    Hi honeys, I'm HOME!!!!

I'm not even contemplating catching up with 50 odd pages of chat - anything REALLY important I should know about?

I see from a quick scan of today's messages that some of you are ill - hugs and homemade chicken soup all round (unless you're upchucking then it's hugs with a surgical mask on and a piece of dry toast and boiled water...)

I had a really nice week away. The cottage was everything I wanted it to be. I could lie in bed and hear the waves crash on the beach and could see the sea from the living room window as I sat by the side of the wood burning on the open fire.

DD came up for Saturday night and we played scrabble and walked and things which was really nice. The weather was very kind - only one really wet day and that was last Monday so I drove the dog out round the villages. Ended up having to wash my car the next day because it was filthy from the mud on the farm roads.

I ate bacon from the nearby organic farm that tasted like bacon from my childhood, I drank semi skimmed milk from the same farm that was so lush it had the 'cream' bit on the top, even though it was semi-s - again a taste from my childhood. It really does make me wonder how much water is in ordinary shop milk!

I walked, I read, I wrote, I researched - and didn't want to come home!

I really must start working on a plan B - where I get to live in a house on the beach. There was a lovely little beach cafe with living quarters about a mile away and I felt I could really do that - I shall have to start researching.

But, ought to finish the unpacking..

I'm seething :mad: Just got my new credit card and they've issued ex one as well so he must still be down as a second card holder :mad: I've written to them twice and asked over the phone at least twice since MARCH for him to be taken off it.:mad:

Sounds like you'd better cancel the card and take out a new one somewhere else without his name on. Did they send it to you rather than him? If they have, at least you can cut it up! (Throw the bits away in separate bins... I'm paranoid, I work with IT security  )
Oooooooo..... do share! I love a bit of gossip me!!!! :rotfl:

It doesn't really make sense out of context, but I sent a perfectly business-like (and rather dull!) email from a team mailbox and got a personal reply about how nice it was to have someone looking out for him to my named work mailbox (I can't understand why people aren't more careful about these... they aren't always private!)

Maybe I should make cakes this weekend and see what reaction I get ;)

Does anybody know how to clean the overflow on a bathroom sink? An old toothbrush just isn't flexible enough to go in. I've squirted bleach down it, but I want to make sure it's scrubbed. Yes I know I can't actually SEE the muck, but I KNOW it's there. See what flying has done to me? It's making me obsessed :rotfl:

Hiya Tom :D. [See Valli didn't even notice].
i use a teatbrush on mine - obviously an old one, and not one i'm using on ds2's bottles. works well.

Soappie so glad you had a good time-can I come with next time? Im a sucker for places like that...Reminds me of Pennington in SA. If you have the money for the flight (which we dont) the exchange rate is definitely in our favour at the moment (£1=R19)( for me and my maintenance payment)

I'd love to cancel the card, but I'm not working so I can't take out another credit card :o Ex's card came with my new one (I'm the primary card holder), through normal post ( not recorded or anything) so its destroyed. I was slightly unpleasant with the poor lad on the other end of the call, but purely in the sense I said "I've asked for someone to be removed from my account in MARCH and you've just sent him a new card. I've wrote to you the same day stating his card was destroyed and he was to be removed from the account immediately, and this is the third time I've called about it!" He went off to check the correspondence file and quickly came back saying Ex is no longer on the file as he's removed them :D I guess being slightly bolshy with them works occasionally. I'm usually too pleasant with them and agree with everything:o. Mind you I am getting better. When I activated my card they tried to sell me card-protection insurance at £70 for 3 years, I politely told them no. ;) :rotfl:

Right, I'm going for a walk. I need to walk some of this frustration off so I can concentrate. A brisk walk in the park (times like this I wish we had a dog!) and I should feel much better :rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome to the thread hun - but YOU'RE gonna have to be so careful - you're so close to the mules they are BOUND to hit you!

My DS & Hubby are the same - stuff lays whereever they fall, usually around their favorite seat or in DS's case anywhere but mainly up the stairs...

Valli, where are you in Derbyshire? I was up there a while back (Packington hill, Kegworth) and thought I would be up there again in a couple of weeks, but it isn't, we're meeting in Melton Mowbray instead... It's a lovely part of the country...
