    Back from OT.. I have to BUY special cutlery (£25) and a posture pack (£50) for DS2.. Would that be covered in a grant from the family fund?? (I never did get round to applying before) Mind you I guess that is what the DLA is for.. (I forget we get that as it goes in the account and gets swallowed by the decreasing overdraft) I have a list of things from OT that I will be taking to the head of the education and health service meeting at the next forum.. I take my job very seriously! They aren't referring him to SLT because his speech is 'adequate'.. the fact he is nearly 13 and cannot pronounce some letters is by the by so it seems. They don't have any groups for him to attend and suggests he joins scouts or sea cadets... the child with immense social issues... yeah that's going to happen.. NOT!

    We have his IEP review on the 12th November (9:30) so hopefully I'll be able to get in to college to sit in a different tutorial group.. seeing as I've missed the last 2 I think attending the next one would be sensible.

    I am starved so am doing food early.. I've had 2 twirls and a cereal bar today.. and only teeny 1 cup of tea.

    Blinkin eck, well done on being, as usual, v.v. efficient re your kiddles.Glad you got some stuff sorted but it's expensive..........hopefully you can get a grant or summat. Wish I could help/advise but no nowt on that area.:o

    We're off out later to the usual place and I am NOT drinking red wine, celebrating OH's birthday so if you out later be lovely to see you.:D

    Afternoon all

    .

    Beccah you're not far from me i'm more Chepstow way though. ]

    Aaaww small world! We bought our lovely newish volvo from Chepstow a few weeks ago. Currently trying to convince dad that he should let me make some special cushions to make it cosy on long journeys. He keeps looking at me as though I'm slightly deranged, every time I suggest it.

    Today has been a relaxed one, got all my flying out of the way this morning including the joyous task of taking a hammer to my old wardrobe. This afternoon I've been looking after one of my nephews so together with little sis we had an afternoon in the kitchen. In case TOM is interested ;) we've made a victoria sponge, an apricot pavlova, 2 trifles and a chicken casserole. Its amazing how much you can get done with a little child labour lol

    soappie welcome home honey :) home being here aswell of course, we've all missed you xx. I am pleased you made the decision to go as it sounds like it's been heavenly and just what you needed. Oh and we have a new Flyboy (say hello to Tom....) who's been keeping Valli etc entertained ;) I love where the caravan is because I open the blinds on a morning and look out to sea, just a shame it's all over soon until next year.

    nicki ask for written confirmation of him being removed!

    pigpen, try cerebra they might be able to help. www.otstores.co.uk might be cheaper (which ones is it he needs? picture will do, will see if I have some spare as we've had a few types) , the posture pack you can buy all as seperate pieces, so if he just needs the seat pad etc

    When you contact the heads of services drop a CC into your local MP aswell as writing to the head of therapy services in your area. Also I know Contact A Family are supporting a similar project to the one I am involved with in Hull, next time I see our rep I will ask her what is happening with it. I have 13th November down as their first conference in Hull or somewhere near Hull, I can't remember where it was going to be (it's a joint one for yorkshire, humber and lincs area so might be in yorkshire), as I know some people from here are supposed to be going to speak about the changes we're involved with (I don't think I can make it)........so your local rep should know if it's already booked. If you are part of a parents forum make sure they have put their grant application in http://www.togetherfdc.org/Topics/PPFundingandGrants.aspx . If sea scouts/cadets in your area are supportive those types of things can be great for some kids, my DS2 is loving Beavers, he's not their first kid with SEN so they have some experience, he's been made to feel very welcome.

    g&b hugs from a distance, you don't sound well at all, half hearted is more than most do when they are ill

    Right, kids and DP fed, he's gone but before he did commanded children to tidy their rooms :D makes a difference when he does the work he makes them keep on top of it. Need to put the bags in the car, pack some clothes, grab a shower (and defuzz) then I think we're done!

    **ignores Triker** and grumps off....
    One day I might be more organised...........:confused:

    It's difficult to miss... I bet Valli even checks her hair and makeup before flying these days :D

    ... in fact, she's been very quiet this afternoon... I wonder if she's having a spur of the moment half term trip to Cardiff ;)

    Greenbee, Hubby worked in Basingstoke for a while and they had to use a tree surgeon where he was... I'll find out some details for you if i can...

    ~~~wanders off to ring hubbys old firm and see if she can find out~~~
    ~~~wanders back~~~

    It was someone called Foremost Tree Surgeons, and they were quite quick and cleaned up after themselves well aparently... might be worth a try if they are near you? (sorry, not sure exactly where you are...) http://www.foremosttreesurgeons.co.uk/

    Thanks Flower... I've called them, and someone actually answered the phone!!! They're going to call me back later to arrange to come round and have a look.

    Actually I have been to the hairdressers and my appointment had been booked for two weeks! ie before Cardiff :p and it was long overdue as I looked like an Old English Sheepdog:rotfl:
    I have brought my washing in sheet and towels which have blown beautifully and the towels are now airing on the maiden.
    I have also made a veggie chilli and frozen some, changed all the beds, cleaned DSs room which is now bunny free - the dust bunnies in there:eek: and removed the bag of conkers he found necessary to collect and store in his bedroom :eek: hoovered DDs floor and found the crevice tool.

    Still to do my room and the dining room aka hotspot central!

    And have mooched round the thread a bit...

    goodness me Pigpen that sounds like a lot of hassle! Hope you've not pushed yourself too hard GnB
    Hope the concert goes well Tom - break a leg :lovethougx

    BTW Flower I like your new avatar even though it isn't in keeping with the theme currently in vogue:cool:
