  • Hello to everyone and hugs to all in need. Especially Candygirl. I was very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing - it would have made a great difference to him that you were all there and at least he is now free of any pain - trite I know but it is true. I'm sending lots of hugs and will include you and your family in my prayers and thoughts at this very sad time for you all. x

Well, I hope everyone is sat down now. Y'know how I really didn't like my job - well, er, I went into my office yesterday and cleared my desk and left my pass on the desk. So, I guess you could say I've walked out.... Actually, to clarify that I had given in my notice and the end of the four weeks was up on 17.10. I did offer to do an extra week which meant I would be leaving 24.10) but after the temper tantrum my consultant threw on Thursday which left me in tears all day (and nobody to complain to as my manager only works Mon and Tues). I came home and was still crying (trying to hide you're crying on a buss is a difficult thing to do). Mr Rage took one look at me and said "that's it. you're getting your stuff on Saturday". So, I guess I have worked my Notice. I think the thing that really got to me was when she said to a higher manager on my phone at the side of me that "it seems to be beyond my secretary's capabilites to be able to find this information out". I'd like to point out that I had passed something to her that I normally deal with that she had said she wanted to see and then she goes off on this  I've also got 20+ years experience diong a med sec job and am damn good at it. And this from the woman who wouldn't even let me have access to her diary because "I'm far too busy for you to even comprehend how busy my life is"..... I would have thought that somebody willing to take stuff like diary arrangements off you would have been a good thing? Still, I had already started doing digital transciption at home so now I'm just starting to do it full-time a bit earlier than I thought! So, I have just been trying to sort out the home office/dust it so I feel happy in it all week. Then we are having chicken breasts marinated in the over with yorkshires, potatoes, carrot and parsnip mash and sprouts and stuffing and then apple crumble and custard for afters. I'll also shove a couple of cakes in there as well. Also listed a load of stuff on e-bay - not everything as if I'd wanted to take all the photos of the cross stitch magazines I want to put on I would have had to get up about 3 a.m.!! :rotfl: I think I will do those in a "10-15 per week" effort :D Well, that's about it for me. Mr Rage is out at the other house sanding walls down in preparation for tiling. Me? I'm going baking :j
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Candygirl - love and gentle hugs :grouphug: to you and your family.

Pen Pen & Pink - thank you for all your hard work on the OS board.

What a day! We have had friends over and they are obviously having "problems" in their relationship. She is very ambitious with her work and working every hour possible whilst he doesn't get to see her very often - even though they live together. My DH reckons that they won't be together for much longer. :( We let them sleep in our bed because of back problems, so we slept on our camping blow-up bed. Unfortunately, I didn't get much sleep because of this.

However, having the friends over concentrated the mind of tidying and vacuuming our house. I've got another stack of clothes waiting to be ironed - I did a massive pile yesterday too.

DH is having a snooze on the sofa next to me and I'm trying to build up enough energy to do some marking! We've got to hand in our half termly assessment results to the deputy this week, so I need to be awake.......

Supper tonight will be chicken stir fry with egg noodles. Mmmmmmmm. Always good. I've got some carrots that need to be chopped up for a) the stir fry and b) as snacks for tomorrow at work! I think there's enough celery to go round too........

Rage in Eden my my she does sound like she is up herself doesn't she. Let's see how long she keeps her replacement secretary for!!! I think you have done the right thing for your health and, well, everything else really :D Good luck for your future job prospects

Sitting here watching the snooker. The engineer has been and has fiddled with the thermostat on the radiator so I hope it does the trick. Don't fancy the fog horn going off tonight when watching Stephen Fry in America. Can you tell I am a couch potato at the weekends ;)

Got a sticky toffee pudding with some custard for tea that has been hiding in the freezer from the dine for £10 deal from M&S the other week. Apart from that its a typical dozy sunday afternoon

Hello all, just thought I'd drop by for a quick post. Ordered groceries online today to save booking a car (am part of car share scheme). This is the first big shop since selling the banger at the end of August so as you can imagine, I have been doing my very best Old Mother Hubbard impression of late! I decided against getting fruit, veg and meat online though - has anyone else tried this (fruit, veg etc?) - is it ok? I'm not convinced I could buy fruit and veg without giving it a quick grope first!

Right, need to go concoct a meal from 6 lamb sausages, an onion, some leek & potato soup, a bag of lentils, a small lump of cheese and a prune yoghurt - any suggestions?

    Hugs to Candygirl.
