    Good morning all

At the risk of being shot down in flames....if you all just carry on posting as you like and stop making every post an attack at change then this thread might be a bit nicer to read. The board guides stated they'd had complaints and comments about how the thread was running so they did their jobs (giving up their own spare time I might add) to ask how this could be sorted....The resulting nasty and negative comments each day really do make me angry and I must admit, I'm now skimming the posts looking for nice posts.

Oh Pooky, well said!!!! Ive not wanted to post (on the times ive had chance) since the fuss started - from what i could see, it was meant to be a 'carry on as before', but considering this is a money saving website, and this is the OS board, you do need to include 'something' about OS if you can, no matter how big or small that may be!! Why people feel they cant put things now confuses me, and going on about it all the time really has made things worse, not better!!! Negative comments all the time is just killing this thread - please can people carry on as they had been, but just remember to put their OS thoughts in as well - even those who say they arnt OS (which really annoys me, why are you on the OS board if you dont want to be OS? i know some people dont have time or know how to be OS, but surely they are here for the occasional hint/tip or help along the way) are in some ways - we all cook and clean (i think:cool: ) and surely by being on this board, you are wanting to see others hints/tips/recipes etc!!!

Sorry if i have offended, but thats how ive been feeling, i dont understand, unless certain people have been sent PMs stating they have been posting things they shouldnt, why people dont want to post things they are doing anymore?

OS for us today - roast pork bought reduced in Mr Ts yesterday and maybe some cleaning!!!

Well said Pooky:j :j :j totally agree - I don't remember anybody saying anything about not chatting about your lives - i think a lot of the reasons why some of our regulars are not posting now is because of the continued moans in some posts - How sad for Pink and Pen Pen who put so much effort in this for us all  I am doing the skim thing as well, seems to me some people just want to continue the fight:confused:

Anyway I had a lovely non OS evening with my neighbours last night - an impromtu chinese takeaway wine and x factor :j

So today will be chicken zorba :D

Lets keep smiling and being who we are eh peeps:A :A

    Morning all,

Kathy have a good time with your mum x

Well we had an expensive day yesterday, I had to get myself new walking boots, as my others have sprung a leak, and walking with soggy feet is no fun, especially the distances we walk, I got the most comfortable pair I have ever tried on, its like wearing slippers but they were £80  I know its a lot, but walking is the thing we do most of, and they should last me at least two years. OH also bought some special detergent to wash our walking coats, which re waterproofs them, which was not cheap, but we have done them, and so are now set up for winter walks.

I have decided to carry on posting as I have always done, a bit about my day, and the os bits, it was certanly not my intention to upset the BG's, they do a fab job :T

Jannie annie, so sorry to hear about your friend, how sad.

Smoky Happy Birthday to your ds for yesterday.

OS today, roast pork for lunch, with roasties and veggies from my garden :T I have our bedding in the wm on a boil wash, which will be put on the line in a while, dd needs to make some cookies for her lunch during the week, and also make up her sandwiches, she also needs to get her ingredients ready for tomorrow they have to make something with a seasonal fruit or veg in, so she is making Jamie Olivers pear and chocolate tart, I must admit the cooking teacher seems really on the ball, and actually gets them cooking :T .

Will get out for a walk today as well, this has turned into a huge post :o .

    Hugs where needed x
  • Good Morning guys!

I like the pic of the apple braid, can someone please point me in the direction of the receipe please??

Looks a bit dull here today, but I've still opened the windows to get some fresh air in. I've got washing in the machine so that will get hung out when its finished. For lunch we are having roast chicken dinner, DS2 is really pleased cos I havent allowed him to eat much, what with his dicky tummy and all that, but no sickness in the last 24hours so I think he has turned a corner.

I have to help DS1 finish his RE homework today, he has to connect Indianna Jones with History, Geography and RE..... just aswell he chose Indy to do, we all love Indiana Jones here, so it shouldnt be too difficult.......... that and wikipedia;)

Havent got much else planned for today. I still need to tackle Mount Ironing, I never got round to to doing it yesterday as DS2 was quite clingy...... still, it meant I got to slob infront of the tv all day and watch utter rubbish.

Hope everyone is well and fighting fit today.
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

    Morning All

Working till 1pm today then I need to fly to Co-op (right opposite) to grab some milk - using the divi card for points of course - then off to get petrol. Should be a bit cheaper than the last time I got it:T

Had fresh fruit for breakfast, slice of HM tea loaf for snack and probably left over HM apple crumble for lunch:o Dinner will be a lovely fresh chicken from the farm just down the road from work. Don't know how far it'll stretch this week as sis and BIL are coming for dinner.

Washing is all done, just the ironing mounting up again now.

Might make some biscuits later, as I found some lovely recipes in a Christmas book yesterday.

    Hope everyone's ok.

    G'dday Possums :D

Had a lovely weekend. DD been over and it's always nice to catch up. We finally got our lounge after about 4 months and here is a pic of it. Note it's a very serviceable colour for our bright red soil. Not sure if I posted the pic of the new dining room suite but here it is in case I forgot. :D The big one is now in the aread behind the lounge suite. Works out so much better. Had lunch over at the pub today and DD shouted so very :money:;). They are having a dance over there next Saturday so might ring around a few friends and make up a table.

Got a busy week this week with DGS. It's suppose to be my *off* week but it's not going to happen. Tomorrow is my only free day  and I'm out all morning. Oh well. No rest for the wicked. :D

Snowy Sorry to hear about your cat. I hope he's over the worst now.

Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those not well. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning all
Well Done Lewis on winning the GP.
It's very cold here this morning, but no doubt I'll warm up when I start moving.
I've made the applebraid twice & both times it's been a complete hen up which is shame as it looks fab.
I've started sewing my 2nd blanket up, it's tedious putting it all together, but I get warmer as it gets bigger as I can spread it oven my legs.
Hugs to Smokey, PP & Snowey, hope you find another job soon.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning.

The daily thread has been decimated I see by annoying political correctness....very disapointing.

I've been sitting on my hands for the last few days trying to ignore the negative comments on the Old Style Daily thread, but this makes me so  that I must have my say. Again, the Board Guides and getting it in the neck for trying theirn hardest to please everyone (naive on my part, I know, but I hoped we, as adults, could come to a resolution that would please everyone).

I live a totally Old Style life - I cook from scratch, bake, grow my own food, keep hens, sew and knit clothes, do crafts, try to clean my house the Flylady way :o and spend very little. But when I mention what I'm doing, it is, in the main, recently ignored.

Earlier in the year I was ill, mentioned it on the Daily thread, and not one single person commented upon it. I felt very lonely and down :o

The Old Style Borad Guides have tried to get the Old Style Daily back on track, with a mainly Old Style content. I for one am loving the thread as it is, but am getting more and more anxious and stressed about the negative comments. [STRIKE]I'll be stepping back from the Daily for a while and concentrating on Board Guiding.[/STRIKE] because of what Pooky and others said - I'll be back later ;)

People are saying that the Old Style Daily isn't as welcoming as it once was; there's no reason for it to be welcoming again, it's up to the posters to make it welcoming.

MS Diva - someone once posted on here that if you can't be bothered with housework, you should keep a row of "Get Well" cards on your mantelpiece - poeple will assume you've not been well enough to clean :rotfl: :D

  • PenPen don't stay away too long please:cry: . I love this thread now it's got back to old style stuff and I know lots of other posters do too. I really appreciate all you and Pink do:A

I'm trying to think of something to make for my kids' lunchboxes that they will like and I won't. If I make biscuits or muffins I'll just eat them:rolleyes: no self-control you see. I'm thinking that a big bag of popcorn to see them through the week might be the answer. If anyone has any ideas please share.

Just read your edit PenPen -that's great!
