Morning all,
Sorry to hear abut your rough night TMD, hope tonight is better for everyone.
I did quite well with my night out last night, £8 for cinema and a meal, cant complain.
I've just signed up for cashback.co.uk
Dont know if anyone else is on this or if its total rubbish but they seem to have a lot more free(ish) offers than quidco or anywhere else I've been. Although admittedly I am rubbish with these sites! In a day though I've earnt £2.72, for a price run, signing up for a free puppy pack (anyone else with a puppy might fancy it, you get 1kg free food), and for installing this nifty little program, which when you go onto a site, it flashes up and reminds you of going through them to earn cashback, or other offers that retailer might do.
I was on A&L checking my account and it flashed up to tell me if I sign up for a esavers account I can earn £10 in cashback.
I needed a small seperate account anyway for putting aside money for our puppy (vets bills etc) so that will come in handy, and you can have your interest paid to your savings, or paid to your current account.
Anyway off to pay for my new house now, so catch up laterWealth is not measured by currency0 -
That sounds good CAFCGirl, might have to have a look at that, I'm always forgetting to go thru Moneybackmadness when I buy something on Ebay (which isnt very often).
Have fun paying for your new house, when do you move? What puppy are you getting? I love dogs, we had to have our dog, Rocky, put to sleep in Sept 06, he was my bf dog, he had him for 17 years, I only knew him for 5 but we were best friends and spent lots of time together when bf was working, I miss him so much.
I don't have any more money yet to pay any more debts as after the two yesterday I only have £40 in my bank account until tomorrow when I should hopefully have two Paypal payments going in, or one will go in and the other will go in on Monday.
Going shopping on Saturday for the rest of my Xmas shopping, then I'm all done, will be a relief.
Just had a Tesco delivery and the guy that came, he has come once before, he always puts the baskets in the porch and stands there while I have to lift everything out. Today he put a 6 pack of large bottles of water into one of the crates and I had to lift it out - lazy sod!!!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
We've had the Asda people do that before now, makes me wonder exactly what you're paying £5 a time for....
We're getting the keys tomorrow and going to decorate and then we can move in whenever. Its only rented but we have our current place till the 19th Jan so a healthy cross over period.
Getting our new puppy on the 3rd January, a pug called Gordon. I cant wait for it all to be honest, feels like a real new start for DH and I who have been through a really carp year...Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Oh CAFC, I'm ever so slightly jealous... A new lovely house and a little puppy dog. Due to circumstances I'm sharing with 4 people at the moment, but next year it's time for a change. My uni mate has moved near me and we hopefully gonna flat share next year. Me and bf not ready to move in together yet, both of us have different set of issues.
But all the best with everything.
DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Thanks hun.
Hope it all works out with your friend. Must confess I was never a great one for sharing, one other person was all I could ever deal with, and had to be a friend as well, you have good times that way
Just ahd to buy our new fridge/freezer but did it online so I can get some cashback on it. Not a lot in terms of cashback but better than not getting anything.
Need to get on dooyoo today and catch upWealth is not measured by currency0 -
hi everyone! I AM WITH YOU ALL!
my situ is as follows: i live in london and owe 4600 on a credit card that is currently hitting me with 90 pound interest a month. Owe2000 on a cc which is not worrying me too much as have a low balance rate. have a graduate loan too 7000 . Owe parents money also, currently repaying at a low amount of pounds per month.
i want to get out of debt. I am very very bad with money and spend it so quickly and this needs to be sorted NOW!
my main priority is the credit card at 4 grand. i have 2 jobs, one full time, one part time. the part time one brings in 400-500 pounds per month, just need to hope we dont get laid off with the current climate, but will find something else if this is the case!
my aim is to get this large balance paid off by next september. i am so ashamed of self for being so rubbish with money and reallly want to change this. i can afford to pay around 300 pounds a month to the credit card and other min payments, but need to budget other ways to save money. im renting and finding it impossible to get a loan/better deal on c/c at the moment. which is probably better because it will motivate me to pay this back faster. maybe i need to speak to my parents and arrange to pay less to them, so that i can pay a larger amount to the c/c, but i dont want to disappoint them any more and they need their money back too.
anyone got any tips for budgeting, saving off my spend? this has got to stop now....0 -
Hi Busy,
Welcome to the thread.
I would recommend setting up a new thread with your full SOA posted, which outlines all your spending, and your debts, the APR's etc.
I found once I had it all written down I was able to really plan what I was paying and to where, and plus the advie of other people is immense and they can help point out areas where you could make savings etc.
And dont be ashamed, we've all been there, got the t-shirt, and the important thing is you've recognised your situation and want to improve things, and you should be really proud of yourself for that

Welcome BusyGirl
Nice to have you here, you should be proud of yourself for having two jobs, I'm aiming to be debt free by December next year as I have a bet with my bf that I will be out of debt before he gets his £50,000 inheritance, he's due to get it at the end of Dec (or whenever his mum sells the property and pays him out).
I used to work two jobs before meeting bf, worked full time for a University and 3 evenings a week for a pet insurance company doing Data Entry.
There are lots of Challenges going that you can join in with, it's great motivation.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
