what does the apr go up to?
Racking my brains trying to think of an idea to help out on that one, although saying that our 0% all run out in March as well.....but i need to pay off the card that isnt on a deal.... which according to my snowball, isnt going to happen any time soon....
Sometimes if I look at it for too long my whole brain starts to hurt too much, and i get weighed down by it all!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Thanks TooMuch,
The balance I have now is on a Virgin card and the current APR is about 16.9% but I know they (and other cards) have been writing and putting up the %'s nearer the end of the 0% balance. I think the only thing I can do is pay off as much as I can and apply to another card in June. If they see me paying off quite a bit from the card, someone else might give me a credit card.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It's my first foray into this part of the forum......
I started paying off my debts March/April this year when it suddenly dawned on me how much debt i actually had on my credit cards. Since then i've paid off over £12,000. I've got a 0% card which finishes in January and all that's left is £900ish. It's going to be tight with Christmas coming along. Question is, do I use my overdraft facility and pay off the last bit or just let it run over and pay up at the end of Jan?0 -
If you have a cc with no balance on then maybe ring up and see what they can offer! My Lloyds the only offer they gave was 4.9% for 6 months with a 3% fee, when I rang to cancel the card (to see if they came up with anything better) the guy said he could offer 0% for 6 months with a 3% fee, I'm still thinking about it, he said they might have a different offer after Xmas.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Hi ZMan,
And welcome! Well done for paying off 12k on your credit cards. That is quite impressive!
I suppose it depends on the % that you will be charged for your overdraft versus the % you will be charged for your credit card. Go with the one that charges you the least amount.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thank you. I guess so. I think the overdraft will be cheaper. I should find out the rate really!
I suppose I should thank Heathrow terminal 5 for helping me achieve this (overtime!).:D Plus the lightbulb that lit up in my thick skull and made me get rid of my gas guzzling BMW and buy a Smart Fortwo Diesel. A saving of £210 a month in fuel alone!
I must admit it's a strange feeling knowing that i'm nearly debt free. I can already feel the difference. I seem to have more money available and it's definitely a weight off my shoulders.:j0 -
Just got my Nationwide statement so have paid £13.50 (minimum payment). Should have some more Paypal money coming in tomorrow or Friday so that will be to pay off the next statement as it comes in.
I'm giving my mum and dad money for Xmas with a little something then they can buy what they want and it's easier than me having to go shopping for stuff.
I think I'll get my brother and his fiancee some John Lewis vouchers as I know they have bought stuff from there before, they both have good jobs so don't really need anything. Giving my Uncle money, then that is all my shopping done apart from bf wants Leona Lewis new CD.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
