Is there any way you can change your working hours, even slightly or a couple of days a week? Believe me, I REALLY understand how you're feeling as I work very unsocial hours too and have insomnia. Should be in bed right now in fact.
I bet you don't suck at the job - they selected you over other people so they must have seen your potential. As for the lack of time - there must be some practical ways of freeing up a bit of time to relax. I'm sure between us the paper hat gang can come up with some suggestions.0 -
There must be a way of rejigging your SOA as well so you can meet your outgoings. There are months of warm weather stretching ahead, it's the best season to save as you can do loads of free stuff like picnic, walks, lying in the sun etc.
I tell you what. If you need to go to bed in 15 mins, let's call it a night (I promise I will retire to bed now too) so you can get some decent rest, and we can look at things tomorrow and see if we can come up with some quick and easy things you could do to feel better. What d'you reckon?0 -
Big hugs. I'd bet money you don't suck at your job - it's still new & you're doing loads of training so maybe you are expecting too much from yourself because you want to do it perfectly.
Do you have any time off in which you can spend sometime with OH and pupski?Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

CAFCgirl - we love you. We don't want you to bow out. At £6K paid off - that is very healthy! If you are feeling down a lot - perhaps you need to reevaluate whether the job is right for you or perhaps you need to see your GP if it is more general.... Don't be afraid to speak up at least on here about how you feel - Don't underestimate how much has been going on in your life - and how well you've done to achieve what you have!
I am 2 days into a new job and hating it and am absolutely exhausted! I know how hard starting a new job can be - I am hoping things improve but am not sure they will!
We appreciate you - you add fun and humour to the thread. This is a support thread as much as a challenge thread and it is okay not to be altogether here....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

CAFC - how are you doing today? I am sorry things are tough at the moment, can you take some time off work. I'm sure things won't always be like this, your job sounds quite demanding from what I've read on here, are you still training?
It is a tough time when you are in debt and don't seem to be getting anywhere, I am doing really badly at the moment too, I've had to use my credit cards a few times recently, had to put my car insurance on it, new brakes, kids b/day presents, my debt now which I've just worked out is over £21,000, I have no idea how I am going to pay it all off as I don't have a job only my Ebay money and child benefit and measly £41 CTC, I'm sick of never having any money, my OH is bugging the hell out of me these days and I've wanted to leave on so many occasions in the last year or so, in fact, if I had any money and no debts I would have left by now. He has a good job and he does pay the bill but he thinks that is where his responsibility ends, I've taken to asking for money for things now instead of paying for things myself, like our eldest daughters got a school trip which is £13.70 and I've told him he can pay that as I'm paying the £15 to get their passport forms and pictures signed, luckily the guy in my local Post Office is doing it for £5 each instead of the £15 each they normally charge which is nice of him.
We also owe my parents £700 for our flights to Lithuania for my brothers wedding, could have done without having to go but he's my brother and my eldest daughters are flower girls but it's an expense we could do without, my parents are only on pensions and I want to pay them back soon but OH says he doesn't have any money and I certainly don't.
My kids drive me nuts 80% of the time with their constant arguing and crying and whining, I hate Ebay at the moment as parcels are going missing and have had a payment put on hold as the buyer is saying their account was used without their knowledge so I've had to fax all the receipts over to Paypal so if the payment gets reversed I'm out of pocket £17.60 plus the postage to send the item, plus the £1.40 for the fax (again guy at post office gave me a discount so paid 35p a sheet instead of 85p).
I've just written down all my cc debts (7 in total) and when I make a payment I will deduct it off the total and when I get a bill I will add on the interest and keep track of it that way so I'm constantly knowing how much I owe as I'm determined to try and get it down. I have lots listed on Ebay at the moment but it's rather slow and things are not selling for much.
Anyway, I hope you are doing OK, keep your chin up and give Gordon lots of kisses and cuddles, I always used to tell Rocky (my OH's dog) all my problems I miss him so much he was my best friend and always there for me.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Morning all!
CAFCGirl - don't bow out of the thread. This is your thread, you started it and we need you here.
I think this is the best thread on DFW board and I feel this is my 'home'. As other's have said before, it's not just a challenge thread, it's a support network for all of us.
Being in debt is so difficult as it affects every part of our lives. And sometimes it just gets too much. I've had time off this thread, but still kept reading it, just dind't want to contribute cos I thought my life sucked so much. But it helped.
Keep your head up, it'll all be better soon.

Sorry you're having a rough time TMD. Totally understand about missing Rocky. My dog used to sense when I was down and came and sit with his head in my lap giving me a wonderful loving and sympathetic look - much better than any other therapy.
CAFC, we all want you here. You're the wonderful person that brought us all together and we will stay together. And one day in the future we can sit around with silly grins and stylish paper hats adorning all our heads _party_Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

thanks all.....it really does mean a lot.
I get completely what everyone is saying about still being in training but i just frustrate myself for not being in the right head space, i know i can do the job but i just cant seem to do the job... probably makes no sense...
its like im suddenly wrong in everything.
DH spoke to me earlier on and because i didnt hear what he said and said "pardon" hes gone off in a mental about how i dont listen and there is no communication in our relationship, and it just really doesnt help. i told him yesterday about how much of a sh*te time i was having and i just dont feel like ive got any support,at home or at work......
and money is just such a massive issue. i seem to spend all my time worrying about it, wondering where i can save, and then all these things just happen, and then theres more to pay out and DH gets all these ideas and then thats it, what he wants happens, what i want doesnt matter....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Not sure how long I'll go for as it depends on work and finances and future plans....
Private lessons every week must have been tiring!
Sounds brill. Keep me updated on your plans. I love discussing travel with other people!
