Was going to put that towards new wireless dongle. Hoping that'll get me online.
Hi tirlittan, have you read Martin's email today? There's free PAYG dongle on offer (for 5 pounds P&P I think).
Good news on your DFD possibly being 1 year earlier. Not long till September either (not that I want to wish away the summer!)
Check out my sig by the way! And today I made an appointment for a trial session at my local gym, so am feeling all proud of myself even though I've not actually gone yet .0 -

Hey CMD,
Your paper hat sig is looking good too!
It's going to be somewhere Spanish-speaking next year (for the educational aspect), but I can't decide where yet, as I change my mind every day.
I've been to South America a couple of times and want to see more, maybe travel right down from Mexico to Argentina. If it's South America I'll go via NYC(dream destination, never been), but I also like the idea of just travelling round Spain for a while as it's got so many diverse regions and scenery, and probably fewer people backpack round Spain than round South America nowadays!
So far I've saved enough for an Easyjet flight and a Lonely Planet - woohoo!0 -

Thanks. It would probably look better if I didn't book them flights to Oz at the weekend!
Wow, love the sound of your trip! Are you fluent in Spanish? I used to do private classes every week but have fallen by the wayside a bit! Love the idea of the travel from Mexico to Argentina. Would love to go to both. How long will you go for?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Wouldn't say I'm fluent yet but I speak enough Spanish to travel alone if need be and have been to the hospital/ doctor's in Mexico without any language probs. I want to learn more during the trip, but most people you meet travelling usually speak English.
Not sure how long I'll go for as it depends on work and finances and future plans....
Private lessons every week must have been tiring!0 -
I've been looking at some study foreign language in the country courses. I've always wanted to learn spanish. I speak rubbish French and a strange mix of Italian (lived there for 6 months and can understand lots and speak less!) Had my eye on Argentina where you can do a language & tango course.
Has anyone every had any success with language dvd / courses? I've lent them from the library before but never got to grips with them! Did try to enrol on a night class but beginners was my long day at work so couldn't do it :rolleyes:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Hey Shelley,
I've never tried DVD courses so can't help there, but the Michel Thomas CD courses are supposed to be quite good for beginners (I tried the Italian one, but he does Spanish too). The publisher often has offers and free samples or downloads - if you do a search on here there'll be a link somewhere. I think it was on the freebies board last year.
Spanish/tango in Argentina sounds like fun, but I wouldn't be able to do that with my 2 left feet. Spanish/siestas is more up my street.
