Went up Corn Du and Pen Y Fan from Storey Arms car park yesterday. It was fabulous, so much snow! Had a lovely day with bf. :D Have been so tired today though so haven't done much at all. Hope everyone else had a good weekend as well.

Hi guys - finally got my first interview invite - it is for next week but you can wish me luck anyway.

Applied for another job yesterday - took about 4 hours to fill in all the stuff it wanted... Ridiculous!

Other than that not much progress - as you can imagine rather distracted by the need to find a job asap!

    GOOD LUCK SAVING!
Can understand the focus on job aspect, I felt the same way too.

I am on the payroll for new job so should get 2 weeks wages on the 15th so thats cool, but still trying to keep as much in the bank so as not to get hit with charges when it all swaps over....

    Hows everyone else doing?

Morning all! This thread is getting way too quiet! Come on peeps, where are you? My debt busting has halted. :( Just done some calculatios and without any extra money coming in, I won't have cleared the interest on my student loan this year. :( I can pay my Virgin CC off before 0% ends in early September as planned, but the student loan thing is really getting me down. Need to think about getting extra work or something. Maybe even think about borrowing from my grandad again to pay off the interest, at least then I'd be starting to pay it off and not just interest. Any thoughts guys?

Hi tirl. Personally I like to avoid family borrowing it can get too complicated. I would look at extra work first.

I've got another interview lined up last week - interesting job but not ideal location wise but needs must - wish me luck again

I'd like to avoid it as well. Have just finished paying a loan to my grandad and don't really want to go there again, though we didn't have any problems at all. :( But it's just such a demoralising thought to be paying only interest and not even that. And I'm not sure how I can fit extra work in, so much going on... Need to think about it all and see what I can do.

I think you need to read Martin's thoughts on student loans- from what I remember it's "good" debt and I didn't think the interest rate was so high, but I can see your disappointment at not clearing the interest. Not sure that borrowing to pay it off is the way to go- then you'll owe someone else and you'll still accrue interest.
Are those shopping bags you're carrying really bags of debt???

Unfortunately mine is not from UK as I'm from Finland and the rules are slightly different. Just an option I need to consider to borrow from my grandad, which would clear the interest, then I'd actually start paying off the loan capital rather than just interest and I could still accomodate paying my grandad off (without interest as well). Just trying to sort out my options...

Good luck with whatever you decided to do Tirl!

I agree - where is everyone? EVERYONE - WHERE ARE YOU???? LOL

Not doing very well this month on my £10 a day challenge - my favourite free bingo site has changed the redeem rules so that's that cash cow gone LOL

I have managed to line up another interview with an agency that tends to have quite lucrative jobs advertised - here's hoping I have some success there! So next week I now have 3 interviews - that is more like it!
