Why not get a bus then a taxi for the main roads bit?

Sorry - I sound lke someone's mum!! lol - but I am a bit of a worrier and I dont want to spend all day tomorrow imagining you dodging oncoming speeding vehicles!

Woman at the kennels said that the village doesn't have a taxi firm & I could be waiting forever for one to appear, which reminds me earlier I did look & found a company in Huncote that I wasn't sure if it was a taxi firm or not, I meant to call them! lol

Ok i'm going to get to Huncote, then Narborough Taxi's will pick me up there @ some pub on the road the bus drops me off & it's £3! Beats £40 taxi return! Now I need to know if my bus pass will cover that area, same as the OAP pass/free travel, but not sure if it has limits!

Good luck tomorrow - even if she is not the right dog for you it will be useful to get to know the people at the rescue whilst you are looking!

Give the little dog a nice fuss on our behalf!:D

I can't wait to goooooo, two buses (One is 40 minutes! the other 20/30 depending on traffic) & a taxi lol but it'll be worth it, as you say I can get to know the people & look at all the dogs i'd like but can't have. I guess then they'd home visit, I dunno they didn't mention if they do one. I'm writing a list of questions to ask if anyone can think of anything good?! lol

Of course I need to remember to ask how long she's been there & why she came in. I'll come away wanting them all! They are nice people, they helped out with a cat I 'aquired' due to my Stepsister once a few years ago. Never know a dog might be nice company for the cat, I think she'll be happier with one than another cat! (Maybe abit put out for a while tho lmao)

Here are a few things I would ask -
Is she spayed?
If she isnt do they know when she was last in season so you know when she could be speyed?
is she Vaccinated?
Chipped?
What does she eat at the moment?
How does she walk on the lead? (pulling can be sorted with a bit of training of course, but its good to know in advance)
any likes/dislikes?

I think she's good on the lead & not speyed so i'll definitely find out her last season. They have a Vet that does it for a discount I think but I asked if I can have my own do it & they said yeah as long as I let them know when I adopt one who will do it. omg I hope she doesn't eat Tripe, my Cousins dog when we were kids had it & god it stunk! lolmind you so do the rats mealworms She likes belly rubs! I've already got my eye on a nice purple 35ft lunge line lol if she embarasses me havin to yell Pixie (If I get her) i'm embarass her!

Yay it's mine! They said go back this Friday for a second visit & then if I still want her I can take her on the visit after that (3rd one). She was found running around the village & took about a week to catch, has been there about 4/5 weeks & is 6yrs old they say, so I spose the vet estimated. She's been flea treated & wormed, they said she has either Miblemax or Drontal wormer & will be wormed again before I take her & she has Frontline for fleas (She has no fleas either yay).

She comes with I think 6 weeks Pet Plan & they said PP will contact me to see if I want to renew it when it's time. She's microchipped which I think stays registered to the rescue & they link my details to it so they could contact me if they got told she's straying & she's had her second vaccinations today.

The rescue named her Pixie as they didn't know her real name, i'm thinking i'll call her Pepper! She's a Bringle, I don't think she has white but she had a coat on cause she doesn't like the cold! lol

They said she's ok to be left for quite a while, she likes cats, she's quiet & just wants to cuddle, walks well on the lead (I walked her too, she pulls abit when she sees another dog but otherwise you wouldn't know she was there).

They dunno if she's been spayed as she's not been in season & said it could be 6 months between the seasons & if & when she comes into heat I have to call & let them know. Then apparently 3 months after she finishes the season she goes to a Vet they specify to be spayed & then they send me £60 back, I said they can donate it to themselves!

She's Staffie x god knows what, she looks like a Staffie, very much like Ben on here, but is a smaller build, not so broad. No idea what the other half is she looks just like a staff!

I can't wait to get her & hope she & the cat can get on tho I know it'll take time. If I can get a baby gate i'll try taking one bar out & doing what they said so Podge can escape. Least now i'll have to walk! lol
