Can ya tell I just found my phone! lol i'll take some outside tomorrow, she honestly doesn't like like a couch potatoe really, by 11am today she'd had 2 walks! Another soon!0 -
I never used to go out before I got Cola and suffered an awful lot with anxiety & depression and she really has been a life saver, I feel so much better going for walks everyday (and shes gets ALOT!). It is amazing how much they change and enrich our lives!
Chaya looks very well in the pics, she really looks at home now! Has she managed to put on any weight?0 -
Only just caught up on this one. What a coincidence that was, I can imagine how you felt. But as FC says, she has lost the chance of having Chaya back now - in reality the dog could be dead after 7 days in the pound. No rescue would allow her to be taken away and returned to someone who didnt even bother to check the pounds and rescues.0

Hello,
Just caught up on this thread. I think it's amazing you have traced Chaya's origins. Reassuring to know the circumstances and that she won't be required back. She's deffo better off with you.
What a coincidence that her original name was Tiger and you are Tigerlily!!!!
Think she needs that as a middle name now!!
Hugs to you both

Thanks all! I haven't been able to weigh her but she definitely seems to have got fat now! The Groomer said she's about perfect weight, you can still feel her spine easily if she lies down or anything but iof she stands on her back legs you can't, she looks much better, don't want her to get any fatter (Well, i'd like her spine to go I hate them!)
I'll be taking her to the Vet sometime soon, I was going to then she had her season! When I do they can weigh her & check she's ok for being spayed in April. I'm dreading having her done but even if the rescue didn't make it part of the contract I would have her done.
She's been off her food for a while, normally she'd be dancing about on her back legs when I prepare it, now she's just been looking at it & walking off, today she ate both times! FC let me know it might be cause she's just out of season. Tomorrow is Dog School lmfao I never had such a social life!
Tortieshell - Chaya is doing that for me also, i've got BPD & Bipolar & wouldn't leave the flat most days, i've walked Chaya everyday except during her season when we kept on the grounds here, and I actually like taking her (I want to right now but she's just had her dinner & i'm paranoid about Bloat!)
I tkae her 3x a day but we don't really have a routine cause on Wednesdays from 21st i'm in 16 weeks of treatment for my BPD & so won't be home until about 1:00pm, so her first walk of the day on Wednesdays will have to be about 1:30. Again, I don't take her before as i'm not wanting to risk Bloat even if it's not all too common!
Right i'll shut up now I could yap about her all night, how will I cope when i'm on holiday!0 -
Looking again at the pics you can see she has put on some weight, she looks really healthy!
I try to take Cola out at different times of the day now as she was getting used to her morning walk at 10am everyday and if I had an appointment or something I'd feel really bad as she would be pacing to the front door!
Today she didnt get to go out until 3pm! which is very late for her 1st walk as something came up but its good they arent in a routine.
I was worried for a while as I have had to move out (landlord wants to sell) and Ive been freaking out that I wouldnt be able to get another place that will accept pets. I'd never leave her behind though and was prepared for the worst but I had some luck today and found a nice place with a good landlord so am feeling ALOT happier now! I dont think I could cope without her now, shes an absolute :A
Anyway sorry for going on .... hope you get on ok with your treatment!0 -
I thought she looked SO much happier in these new pics. Well done you.
My dogs go off food for a day or so sometimes. Its natural, in fact a lot of people fast their dogs one day a week (I dont think I could)

I'm so glad you found somewhere, landlords can be idiots when it comes to pets, kids do far more damage! Yeah Chaya will have her first walk about 1pm now I think, on the two mornings i'm out. Like tomorrow i'm out from about 9-12 in the morning so will feed her about 8am so she can go loo before I leave then walk her once home.
I hate mornings too so I prefer to take her later in the day! She doesn't seem to care either way. Thursday night is training night so one walk will be going there & back (About 15 minutes each way). Just ordered her nice pink food & water bowls that help to prevent bloat lmao how sad am I? She'd probably never get it anyways0 -
I always feed Cola around an hour or two before I take her out for the same reason, bloat! I looked at getting the bowls, is it the ones with the sticky up bits in the middle of the bowl? (couldnt think of a better way to describe it!) lol they are so expensive though arent they? Good if your dog woofs down their food though!
Had to give Cola a bath this morning as she rolled in something nasty, why do dogs do that?! lol Im also thinking of taking her to agility once we move as I think she would enjoy it and shes always full of energy!
I know what you mean about some landlords though! Kids are alot worse (I should know!) Just sooo happy Ive found somewhere ... I imagined me camping out on the councils doorsteps! lol0
