Thanks mumof4, told my dh the ideas and he likes them too so a
re planning on incorporating them in some way. The raised beds for the veg have been done, although they need topsoil/ compost but will do this early spring. They were done early this year, but we just had so many other things to do that we never got round to doing anything more. The veg plot is down the side of the house with the greenhouse (inherited with house).
Our garden is just grass and bushes so we have started clearing the bushes to start with a blank canvas and are deciding what to do. Obviously want to make it a child friendly garden hence the questions..
So thanks again..
I might have a go at this.Kind Regards

:rotfl: i was looking everywhere for RM trying to work out if i'd added some knew and strange plant.
Courgettes no longer than October, by then I'm sick of seeing them. I guess i could pehaps grow them for longer but the problem with a poly is that although the temp is good during the day at night there is a massive drop come October and worse still in the later monthsKind Regards

My Corgette has a white fungus? all over it. Think i'm gonna ditch it. No had a damn thing from it at all.
I currently have Carrotts under the cloche that I grew late. Guess they won't turn into anything now? They are still tiny. Shall I ditch them too? Wonder if they will survive this week under the cloche? I've just been out trying to cover any tiny gaps in the cloche with leaves to keep the cold out LOLOL0 -

Hi Mum of 4 - have pm'd you. Thanks so much for taking time out to do this. I think I've missed the boat for purchasing cheap seeds though. Could you suggest anywhere to buy decent, cheap(ish) seeds just now? Thanks!0

I wish I could do stuff like this. I can't grow anything, not even make seeds germinate!0

I would wait as all the companies will have offers between now and February.
I always buy bank holiday August as Wyvale sell everything off for 50p including the multi packs. They do this every year without fail so put that in your planners, buy seeds in August.
However, to spoil myself i buy from http://www.realseeds.co.uk
because you can then save the seeds and reduced what you need to buy anyway. Plus you know what they sell grows well in the Uk because they grow them in the plots. Great service too. (and no i don't work for them)
I so far save french beans, pepper and chilli seeds and i'm hoping that my melon seeds that i saved this year work but will still buy some just in case as a backup.Kind Regards
