So has anyone else planned their garden yet?
I only have pots, a windowbox and hanging baskets and I plan to grow:
Grown before:
Sweet peppers
Spinach
Rocket
Totem tomatoes
Strawberries
Herbs - oregano, thyme, chives, garlic chives, parsley
This will be the first time:
Carrots - little round ones and mini variety
Sweetcorn (if I can find a variety that you can grow in pots)
Garlic
Spring onions
Salad leaves
Potatoes
Raspberries (T&M do a variety that you can grow pots)
Beetroot (came free when you buy two packs of T&M seeds)
Would love to know what anyone else plans to grow in pots or other containers.

add runner beans to your list and peas.
I few years back my brother grew runner beans in a half barrel he planted about 8 plants and had a great crop for him and his girlfriend, they even eded up freezing some.
Also peas but only a three meals worth to harvest from three pots.Kind Regards

last year we grew runner beans in old landrover tyres,
hubby used to have old landrovers for off roading, and when he changed the tyres we could not get rid of them.. so they were in the garden for a few years.....lol... so i put 2 on top of each other filled with compost and put 3 bean poles into a wigwam shape and planted our runner beans.... we had 3 of these.. and considering i panted them up late, we had loads of runner beans... even give some to my mother..
someone mentioned planting garlic on another thread, and i cant find any anywhere in the local garden/diy stores, and the ones i have seen on-line were expensive...£9. odd from the garlic farm
has anyone seen any on their travels that are quite reasonable that i can plant now? i was going to use garlic bought from the shop, but i might as well get buy the proper ones now, so i can save the cloves every year then...Work to live= not live to work0 -
