I have just posted this on another thread

This is a fantastic offer for any one who wants to produce their own fruit - going to be a Christmas present from OH

Five different plants with slightly different harvest dates. Which means you can pick the berries from Late June through to september. As they are expensive is the shops this something worth growing and they do really well in pots.

You also get a few set of plants free with every order.

Mum of 4 sorry about this. I thanked you for the plans as your email had arrived, however when I went to check them later on i realised nothing was attached to the email. Can you try again for me please?

Mum of 4 - have been sat working out my garden plans (using your helpful plans as a guide :) ), can I ask a few more questions?

    1. on your plans, do you allocate each plant type a space when you sow it (I think you said you do the same as me and sow in trays/loo rolls) or do you only allocate a space for when the plant is ready to be planted out?
    2. How flexible are you with changes in weather which may affect when you plant out/sow seeds?
    3. do you clear plants according to when you need space? i.e. peas from feb-june then clear the lot ready for the next seedlings to go in OR do you leave space at the lottie to slot seedlings if intended space isn't clear because plants are still producing?

do my questions make sense?! thanks YG

Your right i tend to sow as much as i can in root trainers as possible and then transplant. I always work out how many say cabbage i'll use then add some and allocate the space slightly smaller than the packet suggests. Tend to pick some small to let the others get really big in an effort to make more use of space. Anything sown direct is thinned so i just allocate an area and see what happens. Hope that makes sense.

    2. How flexible are you with changes in weather which may affect when you plant out/sow seeds? Very, this spring i took ages to plant the onion sets due to the weather . just to add i tend to fleece/cloche my early crops as the weather does change so much and it helps protect the onions for example from the birds.
    3. do you clear plants according to when you need space? i.e. peas from feb-june then clear the lot ready for the next seedlings to go in OR do you leave space at the lottie to slot seedlings if intended space isn't clear because plants are still producing? Because it's all about getting the most crops i possibly can out of my given space I do like you have just said. Instead of planting through out the season I'll plant my peas out altogther, (excluding autumn sown ones and ones in the p/t) then harvest altogther. One thing i learnt the hard way was that we all get failures which is why i've never grown enough pea. If too many are failures i will still have the reast of the season to sow some more.

do my questions make sense?! thanks YG

Your questions make perfect sense just hope you understand what I mean.
    Kind Regards

    Your very welcome.

    On a sad note.

I'm really gutted my polytunnel cover has got a hole in it. I've put a square piece of a spare bit of cover and used that thick brown tape to stick it to the outside of my p/t and now have to wait for the proper repair tape stuff that i have just ordered. I really hope that the hole doesn't get any bigger.

Plus we only stayed 20 minutes because the children were shouting at each other and i just thought ' get me out of here ' they are all bickering with each other which is not something i'm used to and my oldest (aged 8) seems to have a shrugging of the shoulders disease and a tutting condition;)
    Kind Regards
