Ally - Congratulations!!! :T
Horace - Oh dear, take it easy as you can, though not easy when you're on your own. (((((hugs)))))) and hope you feel better soon.
Sharon - I don't want to sound like a nag, but as Dragon and Horace say, it really is important to get checked out asap for all the reasons they've said. After my accident, I didn't go to medics until the pain was too much to bear and I had to take time off work. I felt silly going when there was "nothing to see". I thought it was making a fuss over nothing, especially with being sent for physio too, but if I could turn the clocks back now, I'd go straight away as I've found out how much it can affect you later on, the hard way. It may not affect just your neck only too. Since the accident, my back ceases up into spasms from around my waist upwards if do so much as laugh a lot, am daily in pain from between my shoulder blades upwards, can't raise my arms over head height because of it, haven't got full range of neck movement etc etc - by sounds of it, you already have enough problems with your back and don't need any further complications. Please go.
I'm all excited now as I've just had an email confirming my chinchilla cages will be coming next tuesday  . (just as well really, as I've currently got no space for the christmas tree  ). They are going to love the extra space. I still haven't managed to sort out the photo's, but will do soon.0 -
Hi all
Bluedog - thanks for your thoughts, hopefully my chap will be coming to stay tomorrow so he can look after me (I have become a miserable old grouch). I thought I was the only one whose back goes into spasms:rolleyes: Mine is terrible if I stand for more than 5 mins, my back gets tighter and tighter to the point that I cannot sit down properly or bend - I am 47 and seem to become 147 when my back spasms. I don't have the full range of neck movement either which is a right pain in the butt.
I need to nip to the village in a while to go to the bank and to buy some food - I need to get food if my chap is coming because he is a gluttonus pig (I have never seen anyone trough so much). He just shovels it in:rolleyes: He said that he would take me out for dinner but I don't feel well enough mind, I don't feel like cooking either:rolleyes:
Well I had best get a wriggle on - see y'all later (y'know this is the only place where I don't have my cold).:D0 -
Congratulations Ally, what great news! _party_  _party_  _party_  _party_
Horace, take care of yourself, and please wrap up warm when you go shopping, could your oh do it for instead?
Sharon, I'm going to add my nag to the others, please go to A&E as soon as possible! it isn't just about getting rid of pain, there's a lot at stake, please don't take risks with your long-term health.
Alto, thanks for leaving the caf so clean and fresh.
Hope everyone else is keeping well and warm today, take care everyone :hello:... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi Rosieben et al
I did wrap up warm when I went out, a thin t-shirt, a thick fleece, my waxed jacket, and my ski hat. First stop was the bank - the doors were locked at 10.50am but eventually we were let in (their excuse was that they were fixing the cash machine), then I went to the PDSA to buy myself two draught excluders - they only had one with dogs on and the rest had cats on but I said that I hated cats so they found another dog one - they certainly have made a difference:D Food shopping has been done - if oh wants anything he will just have to go to Lidl. Anyway, he doesn't know it yet but he is cooking dinner - I have even bought him a sprout top (massive thing with about 2lbs of sprouts on it as well as the sprout cabbage on the top) it was very MSE as it was only £1.50, their loose sprouts were 94p a kilo:eek: So I picked up meat in the butcher, food in tesco (including streaky bacon and richmond sausages) then I visited the market garden place next to tesco for half a dozen free range eggs (54p), the sprout top and some spuds - think I spent £2 in there altogether:D
I think I will just have a mug of tea with a toasted teacake.0 -
Congratulations Alleydowd
When we married 34 years ago eek:o:o I was so thrilled to be able to have my wedding ring from my husband's grandmother, which was handed down to his Aunt. She was thrilled to pass it on to us. It had to be made bigger!!
Sweet dreams..
That's nice. There is an inscription on my ring, I googled it and it is from a famous piece of love poetry and it turns out the poet was born just down the road from me.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Phew! place tidied up and opened up, coffee is on, hor chocolates are set up, bar has been re-stocked, soup is made (Scotch broth, tomato, chicken and sweetcorn), lamb has been prepped along with veggies for roast lamb on the menu tonight, for the vegetarians I thought of roasted vegetables in puff pastry?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Coffee and a doughnut for me please! the sun is shining here and I have all the windows open (but its a tad chilly so they'll be closed in another half hour or so!)
I'm not doing much today, sorting out the last of the stock cupboard stuff and checking off my christmas lists. Havent written any christmas cards yet so I must do that today and then get them all posted on monday. I think that will be enough to keep me busy this weekend
I hope the weather is being kind to you and thinking of those up north and Scotland where I think the forecast is rather different to ours!
Have a good day everyone, Keep warm!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Coffee and a doughnut it is! Soup will be available right through the day and night (sometimes it is what you need!), weather here is okay, but cool and dampish - not good for the shattered ankle! Today I plan to sort though magazines, get rid of the clutter time! we ended up moving with a load and having been in the house over a year now I think it is time to get rid :eek:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I'm getting itchy fingers looking at all the muddles accumulated in the living room and bedroom so I think I might be joining you in a spot of decluttering later. I moved here in June with way too much stuff despite a severe pre-move declutter. I'm half way through the kitchen cupboard and found all sort of things I didn't know were there, including a couple badly out of date
I'll be back later for some soup... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Rosie we had two months to find a place to live and move! We didn't get chance to de-clutter, I know for a fact that there are at least two boxes of magazines that we were about to start sorting through under the bed! I am planning on starting with the ones we have got this year though.Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
