Oooh Dragon - Leek & Potato soup is my favourite and jacket spuds with chilli and cheese or cheese n beans or cheese/leek/bacon or even with plain butter salt and pepper - what absolute bliss - I shall pop in at lunchtime and partake because here in the real world I only have toast:rolleyes:

Sharon - we don't want to appear to be nagging you but as Dragon says we are worried about you - have you been to the hospital yet?
  • morning cafiers, a cold one again - though the promised snow didn't arrive and what was lying yesterday is starting a very wet thaw.
i really hate this weather - it's sent my raynauds into overdrive and i've started my winter bout of chilblains on my toes.
so excuse me cats, i'll sit by the roaring fire with mulled whisky and a large bowl of porridge, and i'll read a steamy novel on my e-reader.....

I just got back from shopping in the local market town. I'm getting to hate shopping :( hopefully now I just have one trip to the village butcher tomorrow and one trip to the village greengrocer next week and I am all shopped up till after chrimbo.

Hope all are well today, and that the various problems and upsets are sorted quickly. Its been a pleasant morning, not too much frost and lots of nice sunshine. long may it continue....... :D

leek and potato soup please dragon, my favourite!;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Sunny day here in Essex. Dropped my prescriptions into the surgery and did a little shopping (milk and bread).
Paperwork looms this afternoon, so I'm going to have a virtual brandy with my after lunch coffee, please.
Love the menu here today and the company. Yes, I know the lurkers are here, because the atmosphere in the cafe is so welcoming, that we can all give a virtual nod as we come in and settle down.
Can I see someone in the corner actually writing Christmas cards?
    Hugs for the poorlies

Ooooooooh, the butternut soup sounds tasty ... I hope I'm not too late?

Was relieved to wake up to rain instead of snow this morning, although it's still not kinder to my joints. Think I'll join alto by the fire for a bit to warm them through..... but I won't disturb you reading ;) .

My OT called me earlier to ask whether my housing association had responded yet, following her letter out-lining the alterations I need doing at home. I was not surprised in the least that she hadn't got a letter as they're hopeless at doing that. (I recently got a letter advising me the contractor was coming ........ for the appointment I'd had the week before!!) Luckily they sent me a copy of the letter addressed to her so I've just had to forward a copy of it to her!!! It's pricless after the surveyor's visit yesterday - I think I'll laugh instead of crying, I mean, it's only taken 2 years to get this far up to now - perhaps by next christmas I'll have a kitchen I can use??!!

I know I have wandered in late - I will have a slice of hot apple pie with custard and a large hot chocolate with schnapps please.

I am supposed to be going out tonight to a quiz but I really don't feel well, once again I feel chilled to the bone, my nose is freezing cold and I feel a bit fluey - think I will email them to let them know I won't be going as I would much rather stay at home (its about a mile walk from my home and I am too mean to pay for a taxi).

I shall try and find room by the fire - I need to toast my chilblains which have appeared:mad: come on Alto shove up so that little ol' me can squeeze in beside you.:D
  • please do - I've always been told to soak my feet in epsom salts - but can never get aroundtuit....

We are having an inexpensive wedding; we're actually using rings we already own. LOL.
