The (not so old) Crocks Cafe

sorry i'm late - it's been a hectic day...
morning in renal ward with daughter, then christmas shopping followed by a large tesco visit....
large black coffee for me please, with a mulled wine chaser before I set down to do some of the chores....
hope everyone is well as can be expected - and, especially, as warm as toasted toads ....0 -
I wish it would snow because it would be warmer - I have been freezing cold all day despite having the oil filled radiator on in this small room and in my main living room, I fancied sausage casserole for dinner but my sausages won't thaw out and I hate defrosting meat in the microwave. So I am not as hot as a toasted toad:rolleyes:
Methinks I will go and hug the larger radiator in the other room and get some hot coffee down my neck and maybe a couple of Asda Best Price Jaffa Cakes to cheer me up.:D
Hope everyone else is warm and snuggly.0 -
Hi folks, lovely to see the cafe so busy.
Alto.. where on earth did you get that expression 'warm as toasted toads'?? Those poor toads... I can't get the image out of my mind:eek: :rotfl:
Lovely to see you Magenta, so sorry to hear of your identity theft, it must be horrible, it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
Sharon, have you been to A&E yet? I never got over my whiplash in 2001 - it exacerbated a degenerative spinal condition I didn't know I had... and would probably have remained blissfully unaware of for years and years but for some idiot giving me a rear end shunt. PLEASE get it checked out.
Just going to have a quick coffee, and am off out again to see a local am dram play - I go for weeks and hardly leave the house, and then out twice in one day....
Keep warm everyone xxxI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Went along to the school this morning to watch the Christmas Tree being lit up. The choir sang some lovely songs.
The handbell ringers rang melodiously as they walked round the audience. They did very well indeed. They are 8-10 year olds who have been playing only since last September.
The Broxbourne (Hertfordshire) handbell ringers have a concert this Sunday at 7.30pm (church on the green, by station and river). All welcome. The children will also be there and sing their songs amongst the delightful tunes expertly played. I know I'm one of them playing!! plug, plug, plug
My mystery trip to Scotland was WONDERFUL.
I am making mulled wine and mince pies for the cafe... any takers?
Should warm people up especially those who are chilly inside.

Hi just me again; the Police told me that I should check out my credit rating so am doing that.
No, the bank was of no help at all.

Well I've lit the fire and put the kettle on, is anyone awake?
/me wanders off to put some porridge on to see if that will warm people up0 -
Thanks for the porridge (can I have mine with demerara sugar and cream please!)
Soup for lunch is spicy butternut squash or leek and potato, and as well as this I am sticking with the idea of topped jacket potatoes, simple and warming!
Now Sharon - have you seen someone medical yet!!!!!!!!!!!! We are worried about you - in case you couldn't tell *sigh*Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
