Think we are all falling apart in this family at the moment!

Eldest is having huge problem with his knees and hips subluxing (sp?) which means he is finding himself on the floor several times a day.

I am going through some kind of flare up with my joints and every step is not comfortable to say the least, feel like I am constantly popping ibuprofen...I've even seriously thought about a walking stick this last week but have held off so far and just carried on with holding onto everything else instead!

Middle son has today been fitted with a splint for his wrist, no injury to it but for some reason (well I think I know the reason, aka the same as eldest), it is incredibly painful and the use of it is nigh on impossible.

And youngest son is struggling with his asthma, his peak flows are down and it was at the stage of me debating whether to send him to school or not..they know what to do if he does start struggling too much but it still worries me. The peak flow level was near the cusp of where he would need to be off and monitored at home, another 10 points down and I would have def kept him off.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

MRI appointment has come through for this Thursday coming, blooming awkward time as it is 3pm which means I am going to have to try to find someone to pick the boys up from school (which involves doing handover etc) and then have them until I have finished at the hospital.

It also makes it impossible for me to have someone with me in case the MRI freaks me out, so no light sedative either! Just hope they don't have to use any dye, last time I had that for an IVP, it made me very ill for a few hours afterwards.

Well, had the MRI and got in a panic although managed to control it enough not to press the button....I didn't want it to take longer than it did!

It was also quite painful as the position I had to be in caused the sciatic pain down one leg and made the other leg twitch and jump!

Good morning everyone - haven't been in for a while. Didn't realise buying a house was going to be quite so stressful - Lupus is playing up and I can't go out in the sun at all!
Seriously counting my blessings though. I went to see a nieghbour with cerebral Lupus and was shocked at how much she has deteriorated. She's very angry and low as well which doesn't help.
My poor sister's blood tests were inconclusive so she's back on the brain scan route. Her hearing apparently may never come back and she will be fitted with hearing aids soon (and something to block out the tinnitus)
She has however bought a pillow that you can plug your ipod into and have music right next to your ear all night to block out the ringing - don't know if that could be of use to anyone else on here?
Anyway -best wishes to you all. I hope you all have as good a day as possible and are lokking forward to the weekend

SingleSue, did they have to use dye? Can I ask a few questions about it? I'm having detailed brain scans- MRI with and without contrast on the 13th in Liverpool and a brain angiogram too, somewhat worried about reaction to it, I have a 4 hour round trip which is a long time even at my "best" let alone feeling ick from the dye, scans always make me feel rubbish after anyway, so slightly concerned! Did they say how common the reaction was? A family friend was awfully sick after it, and if that were the case I wouldn't be able to go home which would obviously be hellish! Thankyouu! x

Ooh, do you know any details? A website to look at would be good; my tinnitus is so bad at times I could rip my own head off!

Sorry, where are my manners? - I hope everyone is as well as they can be, and having a good day; wishing all a pleasant weekend.:o
