I can understand your worry, but I honestly don't think they'd be able to just stop it anyway. I think if they were to take any action on your claim they'd just do another review, with another application or an appeal. Can I ask, did you get any help to fill in the form last time? I ask because I went to MILs the other morning while Welfare Rights were there to go through her DLA renewal form (which is overdue and they've actually stopped her bens!!) - anyway, my point is that a) you seem have a lot of issues that MIL has - and she's (WR woman) after a lifetime award for her on higher than LRC. b) I mentioned that I needed to do mine soon (not sure when it's due) and she was very sternly instilling in me that I do NOT do it alone, that i should definitely get help from one of the organisations, and that loads of people are not getting the awards they should really be getting because the government have given a target of getting 80% off DLA etc and back into work! 80%!! that's SCANDALOUS!You're very welcome :)

Who knows what they'll do ... you hear so many stories! No I didn't get help to fill in the form, I haven't for years because when I did get help (when I first claimed) from CAB I was declined and I went to tribunal (which they didn't help with either and couldn't come to tribunal) and won. Ever since I've filled it in myself I have been successful! It's a week now since I sent them the letter so I'll have to wait and see how they respond and take it from there. I hope I don't have to fill in the form again - I only sent the last one in October!

I know it's very confusing, but SINGLESUE and SAVERSUE are two separate people. Singlesue I have been reading some of your posts and you really do have a huge amount to deal with, how do you cope?

I do get my down days and days where it all overwhelms me but usually I just take one day at a time with this little mantra going at the back of my head "One day it will get better" and "Things can only get better", on the really bad days, I take it hour to hour.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Oh Singlesue, I suppose it's the only way you can cope with everything is by taking it from day to day, or hour by hour as you say! Well I hope you are having a good day today!;)

I've just come back (well about an hour ago) from having an MRI scan ... I may as well move in I'm there so often! It was very strange as it was quiet there as it was Saturday. I told the radiologist that I thought he'd have a day off today, he said that he was working most Saturdays and Sundays. I asked if he had a day off during the week and he said no, he went on to say that it was good money and would take it as long as it lasts because it won't last forever!

The results should be back with my GP in about a week, so I'll try and book an appointment with her in about 10 days or two weeks to make sure it's come back.

I got into my pyjamas as soon as I got back as my body was hurting so much. I'm feeling shattered and that's all I've done is go to the hospital (3 miles away) and back! Isn't it pathetic when you think about it.:o

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.;)

Are you a member of erm... benefits and work is it called? People are always going on about how informative it is, and they might be able to allay your fears. I actually think you might be better off doing another form (as horrid as they are) because you can include the new information/circs/falls you have/had and would have a better chance. You can reapply/rechallenge every 6months, so I suspect that's what they'd ask you to do tbh, but I could well be wrong. I really don't think they'd do anything (either way) on the basis of a letter alone.

My mantra is "this too shall pass". It's from an old hebrew saying, with an (I think) lovely story to go with it. I want it as a tattoo (in hebrew) on the instep of my foot. (I'm not normally a tattoo person and don't actually have any yet. I'm too "what'll it look like when you're 90" usually but my husband has about 80 (all got before I met him) and I think so long as they're tasteful and reasonably discrete there's no reason I should hate them later in life. Who's gonna be looking at my foot anyway?? ;) Now I just need to psyche myself up and find some money for it :o)

I've been going to bed really early this week - I start looking forward to it at about 6.00 o'clock in the evening!!
I've been shatttered this week - must have overdone it driving to Bristol to see the baby! Had a good week though - the big MSE bonus was being given an Intelliplug at Derriford Hospital - it switches off at the mians remotely instead of leaving things on standby. No more trying to reach the main socket behind the telly!!
DD1 had riding this morning so it was an early start and I took DS out to an airfield to do some photography which was pleasant. he had a week away with his dad so we had a catch-up. Got a roast in the oven so we can all sit down for a meal together - its the little things in life that make you happy!!
Sending good wishes to you all

Invasion, yeah, I think it's quite likely. My joints that bend backwards are always the longest to heal. :(

Mum!Sue - I forget which one you are! - I've been "differently abled" since a relatively young age like your eldest. I took the attitude that I was going to do what I could while I still could, because there was a good chance I wasn't going to be able to do it later. I saved for ages and, at 19, took a trip to the USA by myself that lasted a full month, going Greyhound from Miami to Washington D.C. in stages up the east coast. It took me a full month to recover from it afterwards, but the experience was absolutely worth it. If the school will agree to take your kid on the trip, I think he should certainly go.

Bigzippy, regarding the paracetamol to help sleeping - I already take 8 per day along with a range of painkillers, (there supposed to make the Meptid more effective), also take maximum Gabapentin, so can't take any more. I currently have 20 items on my prescription. Any other suggestions?

Hope all of you got a bit of sunshine today. At last I have some daffodils and even a few tulips blooming, think Spring is finally here. Signs of new life always makes me feel a little better.

Sue, I have issues with temp. control and paracetamol isn't always effective, I have wonderful ice packs called Polar Powder Cold Pak. They are great for headpain, and also help for cooling. Chillows are very good too, and I've just come across this which I'll be getting as the nights get warmer. I often find the simplest, natural things work the best weirdly!
