For me, escapism sets in when RL means I don't enjoy/can't concentrate on things like reading, xstitch etc so games is the only way to take my mind off stuff

Agree abt clothes - really miss wearing jeans and belts but back hurts if I wear them for longer than half a day

Where did you find the boots? they sound like a real bargain :D
Don't mention Christmas cards... feakin things.
I only wear my jeans when I'm going out out, or like shopping out in inclement weather when joggers don't really suffice. Tend to get changed into joggers as soon as I'm home again though. Depending on where the elastication/belt is though depends on how much my stomach is unhappy by the situation - it seems to, I dunno, restrict my bowels or something? It hurts either way!

Found the boots in a local discount type shoe shop called United Footwear. They do have an ebay shop, apparently, but they aren't on it  They are immense. :D Going to get my friend a pair today too lol.
re clothes round the neck....the last few years i ahvent even been able to wear my hoodies much as the hoods pull and it feels like im chocking in the same way polo necks or tight tees do. i thought i was just weird, nice ot know its not just me.
I often can't even wear a necklace, forget circle neck tshirts, and I'm with you on the hoodies - I'm always pulling them down at the front to stop the hood weighing it backwards.
running off again now to start working throuhg my list of to do things as they must be done this morning or im out of time til next year.
    Good luck!

Brain still not functioning properly but mahoosive hugs to all who need them.

Having a sore hips/back week here - wonder if it is related to the cold weather. I'm with you all on ther jeans thing - I only put them on go out in. Any time at home is spent in sweatpants or comfy skirts and Ugg type boots.

Had a lovely visit to the bank today after them cocking up my transferring from one type of account to another which means that my IB hadn't gone in for 6 weeks. No wonder I ws getting short of money!

Sister is being as awkward as usual and hasn't yet let me know when her and b/f will be staying with me over Xmas period. Always helpful.

However, ths year I have my first ever real Xmas tree bought very MSE stylee from a little local place at less than £10. I know in the next week I will be cursing the needles and saying never again, but I just wanted to experience it once in my life.
Now I can hear my mobile cheeping at me from somewhere down the back of the sofa so I must go and track it down *g*

Found a new shared house that looks much better than the one I'm in - has house rules about no drugs and an actual rota for cleaning communal areas, and a downstairs shower, and the room isn't any smaller than the one I'm in now so should be okay for the books. Same rent, too! And the landlady is a goth and seems really nice. :D

Just calling in to say 'Hi'. I hope you get your machine sorted LW.
Thank you, it's all better now. There was a leaky compression seal, so that's been replaced, and we just need to dry out the carpet tiles now, and it'll be all back to normal. Whatever normal is.:D

I've put in a request with my manager under the DDA that I take a half hour lunch, and leave at 4.30pm, as I really struggle between 4-5.

She's going to discuss it with her manager. Eep! I work through my lunch anyway and usually take about 10/15 mins - so I thought I could make it official, and help me. :)
That sounds eminently sensible to me. I hope the Powers That Be agree.

Ooh, that sounds good.Should I cross my paws?

I'm another one that rarely wears jeans; I'm susceptible to cystitis, and any trousery type of things make the situation worse, so I spend most of my time in ankle-length skirts or dresses, as I hate having my legs on show.

    Glad it's fixed :)

Hope everything goes well with the house/move tria

I've just been into town in an effort to finish off my christmas shopping bits, before seeing the family on Sunday...but the stall in the market I need was not only closed last Wednesday, but also today, due to a bereavement :( Not convinced I'm gonna get it in time now, so I don't know whether to postpone giving my (teen) nieces present giving til another day over the Christmas period, or to try and find something else for the same money that they'd appreciate as much...and tbh I'm not sure I cba! I did pick up some other bits for hubby in Aldi though so it wasn't an entirely wasted trip out. I'm hoping the stall will be open on Saturday and I can go while hubby's working, then they'll be ready for the Sunday get together...but I'm not holding my breath tbh.

    Btw....I'm COLD!!! ;)

    They did! From today. :D

I too find labels sore on the back of my neck in particularly - and also scratchy trousers on my lower back can be annoying, but have to wear them for work!

Wow, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has issues with different clothing, I thought I was going a little nuts as anyone I've spoken to just looks at me as if I'm crazy!! lol Jeans are ok, if they are a loose pair, cant wear circle neck tshirts or the polo necks, always got to be v neck or buttons to be left undone, scarf has to be loose although doesn't keep neck as warm as it could if it could be closer

Games I'm still having fun with, BZ got me into Country Life on FB and I love that game!! One where you can actually use what you are growing! Instead of just harvesting :D

Glad they agreed Jaz, so much better when employers will try and help!
Hope you've warmed up now BZ :)
Good luck with the house Tria, Landlady sounds nice :D
    Hope your ok CWTA

At work but feeling shattered, just had the first flurry of snow :o Don't like snow, especially when I have to drive in it!!!

  • Helllloooo lovely people, it looks like things have livened up in here a bit now :)

paw that was very clever of you!

Jaz really glad you've got some decent adjustments :)

I'm definitely much better than I was, can stand up without feeling/being sick, and temp under 38. Today I've not got out of bed yet and that's the real test of how utterly exhausted I am but I don't think I feel too bad, just annoying exacerbation of my usual headpain.

I stayed away from Tamiflu, I wasn't happy with the side effects, and I was getting better anyway, Dad's having it as he has knee op on the 23rd (his chosen time, he didn't want to take more than his usual 2 weeks off at Christmas- he's self employed- despite "usual" recovery time, for someone working in an office being 6-8 WEEKS! Couldn't believe it! Apparently people who are S.E tend to take 2-3 max.) and so far no side effects from him, but he's slowly getting better (though he'd deny it...)

I have similar clothing issues, I tend to only wear jeans when I go out, and even then if it's just to hosp. or similar I stick with my lovely Primark sweatpants. I'm in love with leggings, as they're so much more comfy, I hate jeans in the wheelchair, they hurt and they slip down so that when I get out to get into car- or to lie on floor!- I have to try be quick pulling them up whilst not falling over.... skill ;)

Can't say I've ever been a fan of round neck t-shirts, but have had probs with scarves before.

Looks nice outside today, i see blue sky and some nice white clouds, behind my big oak trees.
