Thanks for your concerns about my daughter with glandular fever.
As can be seen from my user name M.E. I am affected with M.E. and although on a reasonable level now I have been bedridden for 5 years when the children were small.
In a perverse way this is helping my daughter cope with glandular fever. Many of the symptoms are similar to M.E. and rest is the main cure. She has been sensible and has been sleeping and resting. More importantly she has gone back to bed when she has started being tired rather than struggling on.
She had seen that I had been better if I had not forced myself to overdo things.
It is very hard for a 22 year old to rest and not worry, but she has been very good.
She is upset that she cannot resume her final year at Uni, but has now looked positively on it. She will live in her Uni flat and by about Christmas she should be well enough to get a full time job and earn money to pay her way through her final year, next year. The Uni have been sympathetic as well.

Also on offer with the virtual green tomato relish sarnies is virtual apple juice. My husband picked up a bag of windfalls from down the lane and we have just made juice from half a bag. Absolutely delicious, rather sherbert-like and very refreshing.
Isn't it time for a cup of tea as well?

  • I'm back to update everyone!
Got to A&E at 8:45pm, after a bit of a crazy day. A nurse had looked at it at midday, bandaged it for me and told me it was broken. I told the receptionist I had broken my foot, she said the wait time was half an hour. Two hours later, I asked when I'd be seen by triage, and the receptionist said I had to be patient. A new receptionist came, and filled me out a new card, as she couldn't find mine. Five minutes later I was called in.
The doctor said it looked like a break, and sent me for X-ray. They gave me a wheelchair, and off I went. X ray man did the X rays and then went to look at them, came back and said to get used to being pushed around, it was broken. He sent me to a side room for treatment. 45 minutes later the doctor said it wasn't broken, got me some crutches and pretty much made us leave.
It took an hour and a half to walk home, and it was freezing! I'm okay now though, it's really sore but I'm living with it. Looking forward to having a bath tonight!

My 42" TV is being moved to my studio tomorrow...exciting stuff!!!
    How is everyone else today?

jazz, cwta, bz, sharon, sue, saucy hope all your sore or ill parts settled and allowed you sleep.

*waves* to all the lurkers and everyone else i have missed.

ps bz i manage the summary of everyone by using the quick post and scrolling back up the page to see who posted what....but that only lets me go to the first post on the current page and my memory is crap so i inadvertently miss people and then feel guilty so stop doing so for a while, which then seems like i am ignoring everyone rather than just missing a few and feel guilty .....well you get the picture.
I managed to get to sleep about 2-2:30am but woke up about 4am in agony. :( I had a warm bath last night, both because I needed one and because I thought it might help the leg muscles/sinews/whatevers... I seem to have set some other soft tissue issue off tho as it felt like my hamstring was being attacked! I spoke to the receptionist at my GPs this arvo tho and I've finally be referred to physio. I checked whether it was as urgent or acute and she said urgent, so that should save me a month of waiting list. Still gonna take a coupla weeks tho...

    Hi All,
Hot choc with whipped cream and sprinkles on offer. OK, marshmallows if you prefer.

    Crisp autumn day here today.
Miss my lovely long walks by the river with my DH. Any one have any tips for pushing wheelchairs in the park?

Hope you all have a pleasant weekend!

ME Very wise for daughter to rest as much as possible - I had glandular fever quite badly when I was 13 - that'll teach me to kiss boys! Take care you don't wear yourself out looking after her.

tenmeh Welcome back - nice to see you posting. BTW would love the recipe for the delicious green tom chutney if you have a moment/energy to post sometime?

saucy So please you went to A&E even if the outcome wasn't particularly helpful. Still no idea how you did it? Hoping it improves soon.

Brain is struggling now so nitey nite evenrone, sleep tight and may the sun shine on you in your dreams and tomorrow.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D
