morag any tips for encouraging a mouse to leave on its own/telling if it is still alive and under the cupboard as it moves too fast to be covered, caught and released? i will go buy a humane trap today.

I have a humane trap, but never caught anything in it. Cats always alert us to any in house and usually DD catches them - occasionally we find bodies though. Sorry, no tips other than leaving door open. Wonder what spooked chloe? Luckily ours seem to have cast irom tummys :D

Lady with the mouse - your cat really loves you!

about me - became my husbands carer a few months ago, after he was disabled in a car accident. I have worked for as long as I can remember - so this is an entirely new experience for me.
Enjoy your hot choccies!

Belated welcome! Thank you for calling me a lady - I usually get "you are no lady" :rotfl: For the record, Pepsie and Brandy belong to my DD. She, her fiance, 2 cats and the contents of her unfurnished flat moved back home to "save up" for their wedding/deposit on house. I hope to get rid next summer ;) Lady Anne is mine.

Tough luck for your DH. Being a ft carer is a much undervalued thing. Feel free to rant when you need to and good luck with the decorating.

*puts naughty head on* Sorry, I have this inappropriate image of your DH in a pink tulle tutu and wings, with a wand with a star on the end.:D

Glad I wasn't the only one! cwta was the "Mandy" comment political by any chance ;) Hope you are both coping with your flare ups.

paw welcome home, glad you had a great time, sounds like fun.

jaz glad the job is going well and well done on the goodies from ss - hope they help.

saucy secrets hope you went to A&E and got your foot sorted, do let us know.

samsmate I echo what tenmah said to you. This is a very supportive place where all posters abide by Martin's request that we be nice to each other. We were very supportive to sam when she posted and as has been said, hope she overcomes her problems.

suep, sharon, bz, pooh, dragon and any lurkers - hope all is well/improving.

I'm ok but very busy in the rw and too preoccupied to be very sociable. I just feel a bit emotionally, mentally and physically drained atm. It has just dawned on me that I need to do 3 self assessment tax returns by the end of the month
Murphy was an optimist!!!
• samsmate it seems ot me you are asking that we drop everything, think of nothing but you and sam, and talk of nothing but you and sam. sorry the world is not like that. people have asked after sam, people have been supportive to her in this and other threads, what more do you want? im sorry we are not giving you our undivided attention but other people ahve problems too, other people who post regularly in this thread are also dying, have lost best friends/partners etc you are not the only person suffering. if al you want to do is ocme in here and be a drama queen bcause we are not behaving as you want i would ask you to please go and start a new thread just to post about sammy and get support for yourself where you can make it clear int he op that any other chatter or discussing of our own problems is not welcome.

tenmah nice to see you.

morag pest control guy said the humane traps and letting them go over the fields etc are crueller because house mice cannot survive without a house and human foodstuffs :S been no sign of it or droppings etc since and neither cat is going mad as if there is an intruder in their kitchen. i think he was just exploring and took himself off when i opened the door. watch me be proved wrong though when guy comes back next week to check the bait he left.

paw i start with tea, then progress to coffee, then squash or water in an afternoon or decaf tea if i really want it.

jazz, cwta, bz, sharon, sue, saucy hope all your sore or ill parts settled and allowed you sleep.

*waves* to all the lurkers and everyone else i have missed.

ps bz i manage the summary of everyone by using the quick post and scrolling back up the page to see who posted what....but that only lets me go to the first post on the current page and my memory is crap so i inadvertently miss people and then feel guilty so stop doing so for a while, which then seems like i am ignoring everyone rather than just missing a few and feel guilty .....well you get the picture.

Samsmate, in reply to your previous update, I said that I would keep Sam in my thoughts and send healing thoughts her way, and this I have continued to do. I just didn't feel the need to post about it non-stop, as I assumed it would be understood that I'd do so. I'm sure everyone here is sorry she's in such a bad place, but we can't let it take over the thread completely; this is a support thread for everyone who posts here.

Saucy did you get yourself to the A&E? What happened? Tell me I don't have to come and frogmarch you down there, please!:D

BZ and Jaz yeah, I've had meds before now that had worse side effects than the symptoms they were supposed to alleviate. BZ hope you're improving somewhat. Jaz hey, well done on getting the goodies from SS, even if you'd prefer not to need them. It's like getting blood out of a stone to get anything around here.

Pcl and Morag do either of you have cats that can catch spiders? Much as I like arachnids, they're taking over my house! Best of luck with the tax returns btw, Morag. Horrible things!

Paw thanks for the explanation of "sticky willies". I'd never heard of them before, or at least not in that context!:D:D

*waves* to Tenmah (nice to see you!) and everyone else I haven't mentioned by name.

• lw that was all whitney hunted when i brought her over here, she spent hours chasing them, then she got older and cba anymore, even flies dont attract her wrath now except when they dare land on her. chloe will catch it for you though.

They say to accessorise your outfits and I am now the proud possessor of one of these beauties. What can I say except Urghhh. Still, if it works.

lw Lite will catch the spiders for you but I'm afraid she will then proceed to eat them which is guaranteed to put you off food for life *g* Specially when you hear a crunch and see the legs hanging out of her mouth.
Hope your downer has subsided and you are feeling brighter. I need to hear more about Mr LW's magic fingers, naughty lady *g*

I had a day doing nothing yesterday and I feel like another one today (after having got up at 6.50am to get to hossie appointment), but I had the day off yesterday coz I felt carp and I'm feeling better today so I feel I should "do things".

I am a very lucky lady - I'm off to the Scillys again on 19th for a week with Dad. He desperatly wants to go as he's had to cancel his planned trips 3 times this year due to ill health and he really needs someone with him to keep him safe. His wife didn't fancy going, so I'm going instead. He's paying for my room and I'm paying for transport etc. Good job I enjoy spending time with him - just have to get him to agree not to get rat@rsed as that'll be a deal breaker.

Hugs to all - I have read posts, just can't focus long enough to reply properly.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

The cafe is a wonderful place, full of lovely thoughts and best wishes for everyone who needs them.

I've made some green tomato relish... so everyone who wants a virtual sarni with relish... coming up...
plus whatever virtual drink to go with it.. mine is hot chocolate with whippy cream and chocolate sprinkles.

I've not posted in a while but have lurked. Unfortunately my daughter has glandular fever and has had to postpone her last Uni year. She is improving and is taking things slowly.
Like many people in the cafe who have to live with pain/fatigue our tempers can be short and watching other people suffer also drains us. The cafe is a virtual haven where we can pass on good thoughts and think good thoughts.
So for everyone who is experiencing pain or watching others in pain... our thoughts are with you and kindly meant.

Hello M.E gosh, haven't seen you for ages! Sorry your daughter's been so poorly. I don't know much about glandular fever, other than it can be very nasty.
I'll have some of that relish with my cheese roll, please.:o

CwtA I'm jealous! I've never visited the Scillys; have a great time. Hopefully your Dad will enjoy it enough to stay away from the bottle.
Hmmm.... nice legwear - still, as long as they do the job and aren't uncomfortable.

Mr LW did my hair for me last night, so no more grey..... for the time being, at least!:D

cwta just because oyu feel better does not mean you ahve to rush into doing things. take another day off and catch up properly on feeling rested. 19th will be here before you know it :)
