I'm in so much pain with this ankle this arvo. I might have to have a nap... see if that helps me cope better. My stupid doctor (not normal, preferred, GP) actually said the words "how do you overdo it with ME?". He did a home visit and didn't even look at my ankle. And refused to comment on whether the spasms were normal or not, or how to cope with them - just said "however you think's best"! It's almost as good as me asking for crutches from the hospital yesterday and her suggesting Nurofen...! I've been in despair and tears and nearly freakin suicidal trying to get some sort of help  And I think it's ridiculous that I struggled to knock my wedding guest list down from the original 210 and yet I'm struggling even worse than that to try and get people to come help me while DH is at work.:(

No, BZ I haven't seen them yet. Tbh I've heard so many horror stories about people who've had privacy/security probs with fb that I've played safe and stayed well away from it.

I'd love to see some, as and when you're well enough, but for now, please just concentrate on getting yourself right (or as right as you can be). *SIGH* I know, it's like getting blood out of a stone, trying to get the appropriate help when you need it. I wish there was something I could do to help.

How do you overdo it with ME?! What a ridiculous question, when having a bath etc, is overdoing it it's pretty easy ;) Sorry you're struggling, a nap may well make a difference if you're not in too much pain to sleep. Hope you're in a little less pain soon! :)

I'm in huge amounts of pain with my big toe- yes it sounds silly and I've been laughing about it at myself :p- but OUCH! It's been sore for a couple of months, no idea why, mum reckons it's possibly something athritic- just in my toe though, tinternet reckons so too :p only it's got worse over the last couple of days and I can't bear weight on it now, having to use both crutches round the house and it's swollen.

Doc gave my ibuprofen gel when I went to see him about it a few weeks back (I'd started falling over the bad toe too!) used it twice just to humour him, but I don't get any benefit from ibuprofen anymore, or paracetamol unless I have a temp. and I told him so! Even diclofenac's not taken the edge off which is annoying. As well as it being hugely painful it's also almost numb.. that doesn't make much sense but hey ;) and it's also got intermittent pins and needles. Who knows, strange bodies!

Getting a new wheelchair next week hopefully, I've been wanting a 16" manual for a while, as my electric is much more supportive at that width than current 18" manual, plus, it's better looking :D this is it here (though have found it cheaper, just better pic) http://www.redcross.org.uk/shop/product.asp?id=95146

Ramble ramble, trying to make an effort to keep up with you all better ;) x

Ramble away as much as you like, Invasion.:o Sorry to hear about the toe - I can sympathise, honest. Just a thought - a couple of friends of mine (husband and wife believe it or not) have both been diagnosed with gout. I believe that's related to arthritic conditions, isn't it?

That's really interesting, though it does say women are unlikely to get it, specially before menopause, but who knows with me ;) my Grandad gets gout often and it does say it runs in families, the only thing that doesn't quite fit is the fact that it's been painful for longer than it should have if it was gout... but maybe this more severe pain is not the same as the other pain! It also fits in with my awful circulation in my feet- they're always really cold, and apparently that causes the urate crystals to build up. hmm, off to the dr's methinks, thankyou! :)

For those of you that remember I was offered a job, until I mentioned I have fatigue - I had my occupational therapy assessment for work today. The doctor cleared me for work, and he wrote the letter while I was there saying he saw no reason for me to do the job, that I would need a full work place assessment to make any needed adjustments and that I may need to be allowed time off to go to appointments. (I didn't ask for that or mention appointments, he just wrote it, which was nice of him.)

So now I'm just waiting for the head of the department to call and let me know what's she's decided. I would be starting work on Monday, so she better let me know soon!

In a way, I want to tell them to stick the job! I mean I can't turn work down, but I'm so exhausted just doing two days, and don't like that she's thrown a fit just over one symptom. But I will have to suck it up and be a big girl I suppose!
