If you're after some VERY good value DVD+RW disks for the recorder then checkout the PCWorld UK website where they have Imation 10+10 free for just £5.00. They aren't freely available anymore eg just 3 of my 9 'local' stores. I reserved some online and when I turned up they didn't have them so they sold me Verbatim ones instead - had to be discounted c70% to match the price!
http://www.pcworld.co.uk then search for Imation 213090 -

Hi looking at this one - can anyone confirm my understanding below please :-
1. multi-region - yes with hack
2. can record from NTL - yes
3. can record from Freeview - yes
4. can record from my old wedding video to disk - yes (is macro disabled)
5. Hard-disk - no
6. Pause live tv - no
Thanks,0 -
Your understanding is correct.
I have heard (but not tried) that it can even record sources which are macro enabled.
If you have a VCR with an svhs output then you can get a better quality copy of the wedding vid. (the recorder has s-vhs in)amc1 wrote:Hi looking at this one - can anyone confirm my understanding below please :-

eilz wrote:I got one from Stevenage and it also does not record DVD-R, but + is ok. Is it just firmware thats stopping it record in -R or it the actual DVD Recorder different on the two model. My serial starts 2005 06 02 26.Am I right in thinking that everyone whos serial start 2005 06 03 26 is able to write -R cds?
OK, I FIGURED IT OUT. If your serial start 20050602 then its an old batch and will make a loud noise on disc load and will not record -rw. BUT if it says 20050603 it will be much quiter and allow -rw records as well as +rw
I got both models and tested them side by side. Although, I believe almost every TESCO has now sold out pretty much completely.0 -
