PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I have set the technika up today and have successfully tuned into tv, and sky...and I've got a vcr to contend with(yippee), but for some unknown reason whatever disc I put into the player to playback, it can't detect a disc. Is this me? or can anyone offer a solution? I seem to be one of the unlucky ones who can't playback when everyone else can, but can tune everything in when everyone else can't! I will happily explain to those who have tuning problems what my set up is like...AS LONG AS I CAN PLAY MY DVD'S!!!!!!!!i'm living in a parallel universe0 -

files to be played through the USB input.
Also a batch in my local store (Salisbury). I've had mine since January, no problems with it at all. I didn't know about the new version allowing avi to be played through the USB though - does anybody know whether this is available as a firmware upgrade, and if so where to get it?0 -

Above thread refers to another forum where there are details regarding the new firmware and the firmware upgrade (Blu-sens) referred to above.

). But I think that in order to get the terrestial channels you'll have to plug an aerial into the co-ax input. You won't find any others by scanning unless you do that.

Does the menu screen (desktop/background/whatever you wish to call it) still show only "+ Recordable" when you power it up?0 -
zaccy wrote:Yes the startup screen still says DVD + Rewritable but that means norhing other than a graphics display.
The difference is, that when a - disk is placed in the tray, the machine reports DVD-R (before it said no disk) and goes on to record to the DVD-R disk.
Thanks zaccy. Just popped a DVD-R into my Technika which I have had a couple of weeks, maybe a month, and it reported 'DVD-R'.
Guess I got lucky and bought one just at the right time.0 -
I only bought mine last saturday and it wont accept DVD- .It kindly points out 'no disc'. It is a 2005 though.
So can I just confirm that if I follow the advice given regarding multi region the recorder will stay multi region or would you have to do that everytime?
Also, if i go back to the menu and make sure the settings are the same as Zaccy - I'll have it all set up nicely!
Am currently relieving Sky+ of all my daughters Sesame Street stuff! Havent checked yet if it is working though!!
Finally, might be a daft questionb ut how much time would you get on a 4.7gb (4x if that makes a difference??!!) disc.
