Has anyone worked out how to recognise from the box in Tesco whether it is the 'new, improved' version from the 'older, less capable' version ?0
-
Does anyone know if these are on their way out (i.e. no longer being stocked) or on their way in?
I picked up a Liteon but think that the Technika may be a better option. My local store in Swindon does not have the Technika.
Do Tesco transfer stock between stores? Is there stock anywhere esle?
Cheers

Definately interested in any identifiers on the box to get the "new" version....What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
The stock they have in the Tesco Extra at Stevenage are the newer "batch" - not that it indicates this on the box. Not sure if the box for the new batch differs from the old batch (as I only have the new one).
Mine has a serial number which begins 2005060326. Could be 26/3/06 manufactured date??. Near the barcode is has the code "SC104490"

Mine has the same number near the barcode as Foxy's.
Not sure about the serial number as its all plugged in and i cant pull it out far enough to see a serial number.
We haven't tried - discs yet and have only used + discs we already had.
Just how quiet is everyone eles'e machine?
Ours is quiet when playing dvd's but makes a whistley hissing sound when recording.
Are the quiet ones quiet all the time?
Just checked my box and my serial number is different to Foxyloxys.
Mine says
DVDR2005060226003438
Sticky label says SC104490.
I'm not sure if this is the newer one now?0 -
On my new batch one the serial number is also on a little white sticky on the box.
(Just in case this helps differentiate the new and old batches)0 -
My serial number is different to yours Foxyloxy.

I know mine is the newer version - it recognises and records to -R

Can't say for the latest versions of the Yamada, but I can say my previous version was fairly horrendous. Fortunately I got the full amount back from maplins and I got myself a panasonic DVDRW - it has instant recording capabilities and freeview built in = )
It also syncs with my Panasonic TV!
I looooove it! but it cost so much more :- (Tim0
