Morning all
Not posted on here for yonks... but the thread asking for opinions on this thread made me wonder what I was missing out on :rotfl: So here I am
Hope everyone is well...
hubby has managed to give me his lurgy  ..but Im medicated up to the eyeballs now so Im feeling half human again
I have had my remoskas just over 2 weeks now and haven't put my gas guzzling oven on since :j I have some bread proving in one pan and have taken the other pan from my free machine and have the base of the shepherds pie on for dinner tonight.. I love r.e.m.e as he is known -why it seems more simple to cook in that than the oven I don't know -but it doesand it all seems to taste better too
Hubby is off today -so I have sent him out golfing -I like to be on my own when im under the weather, hubby just thinks Im being nice
I think there is going to be little cleaning going on today..so Im going to snuggle up on the sofa and finish off planning what veggies Im putting where next season -so i know how many more tubs I need... and then I may muster up the energy to get some more of my 1st blanky crochetted -I only taught myself about 2 weeks ago so Im super proud :rotfl:
right .. I will get off again now I have stuck my nose back through the door
Hope everyone has a good day, and hugs to anyone in need-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Morning :hello:
I woke up this morning feeling rested and healthy for the first time in weeks :T I don't know why - I don't deserve to, given the fact that I polished off an entire bottle of wine last nightIt was a lovely English white which I got given for my birthday back in July.
I'm sitting at work with my contact lenses in as I'm having a check-up at lunchtime. I'm sure the correction in my left eye isn't what it should be, so I need to bring that the the optician's attention. I am collecting my new glasses today as well - it'll be nice to see clearly again.
Yesterday I did a pasta bake with what was left of Sunday's FR chicken - it was only a little chook. I just added it to cooked pasta along with passata and sweetcorn, bunged loads of grated cheddar on top and stuck it in the oven. Made stock in the slow cooker overnight as well.
I am busy for the rest of the week now - out for the next four evenings  which isn't really the way I'd prefer to do things, but all four things are either one-offs or they clash with each other, so I couldn't have done it any other way without missing one or more of the events.
Nelski - your house is too big. I can empty my dishwasher WHILE watching Jeremy Kyle
Hugs to anybody in need of them

morning all
at work so not read thread. hope everyone is ok after last couple of days
chilli tonight ( made a spag bol yesterday and bunged kidney beans, baked beans and chilli powder in the leftovers):D very OS. seriously though Before coming onto this site i would have probably chucked it away , rather than bulking up and turning it into another meal
I freeze all sorts of stuff now so as not to waste it like wrinkly peppers etc and then just bung it into whatever i'm doing. I have halved my food bill doing this
hope everyone is ok
I will read the thread when i get in tonight xx0 -
Having my coffee break;)
My muffins are in the oven (apricot and choc chip) and I've got a batch of fairy ckes cooling and waiting to be iced. I don't do much cake decorating but dd requested some iced cakes today and I do sometimes let her have what she wants
They are coconut and lime cakes (added a handful of coconut and zest of a lime to the mixture) and will have icing made with lime juice instead of lemon. This is all because I discovered I'd used up all the lemons making myself hot toddies (used up all the whisky too), and I do like my icing to have a bit of flavour.
Needless to say the icing shall be green, but which green? My fabbie set of cake colouring pastes that I had last Christmas has a choice of holly/ivy, fern, leaf, cactus or mint. You can't really tell what shade they are until you've put it in your icing. I'll probably do a few in each shade. Wish I had some lime and coconut jelly beans to put on top now.
I'm loving this thread now. It seems to me that it is just the right balance of old style chat and other stuff. Big thanks to PP and PW:A
And thanks Nelski and I love reading your posts, I like your style;)0 -
MUMMYSAVER no matter how the school try and blag you on this one, having an LSA for a full day per week is totally unacceptable:mad: The local education authority would be very interested to hear about it, although I suspect the HT will cover their own back by lying and saying they will be teaching the class for part of the time:rolleyes:  I see and hear about this all the time, my friend is a primary teacher and they have PPA of half a day each, and that's pushing it she says:o"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hi folks..... As dd has said she would like to limit Christmas pressies to £10 each I am getting inventive. Went over to the freebies board and a Berio recipe book, Grolsch glass and some body product samples should be here for them.
I will put some of my lovely apple chilli jelly in. I also think I'll knit hats for them as well - I'll think about that.
I found some pretty heart shaped card 'holders' for sweeties, to make, on the Martha Stewart site. They are hung with ribbon, but I think they will be pretty, wrapped in that florist cellophane wrap and with a little bow rather than hanging ribbon. I shall make Christmassy ones. I also thought about book marks.
This way they will have lots of fun things to open. I'm going to make a Christmas house from a cardboard box and put the things in that.
Had my 'flu jab this morning and came back and made two loaves. Made no knead for quickness as I go to my charity shop job this afto.
I would love to make a photo album for dd, but doing it cheaply is a prob - any ideas?
Love to all

Two loads of washing are out on the line - it rained all day yesterday!!!
Had a huge low carb breakfast done in the moski and have the dough for french sticks whirring in the bread maker.
Will prove and bake them in the moski later.
DH suggests he drive me to Tesco and I get their special offer chicken later to put in freezer.
He has just spent an hour trying to get the shower cubicle door back on its hinges after DDs had a difference of opinion about who had precedence in the bathroom.
Might make peppers and chicken for tonight unless other inspiration strikes.
Thought if we could get our house sold and moved to one with a cloakroom as well as a family bathroom it might solve probems but even if we did this they would only find something else to squabble over!!!!
Hugs to everybody and nice to see newish faces on here!:T"This site is addictive!"

Had you thought of getting a plain photo album from a pound shop and then covering it with pretty material or lace or velvet etc to make it look special?
You could get something like a blouse or skirt in the material that you want for a pound from a charity shop and cut it up for the album or home made Christmas stocking etc."This site is addictive!"

Morning everyone
Just about to get ready for work. Have been quite busy this morning.
Big slow cooker is doing its magic on bolognaise sauce, should get 4 portions out of that.
Little slow cooker has some YS lamb steaks in, have shoved some gravy and dried mint in, never done them in there before, oh well, if they break up it will be minted lamb stew :rotfl:
Spent ages on the [FONT="] web this morning checking out contents insurance as ours is due at the end of the month, its really gone up  Post Office is looking good at the moment, also cashback with Quidco
Have a good day

Morning, having a very frustrating day and am so stressed(and grumpy) its beyond belief!
Am waiting for my beautiful kitchen units to be delivered we got a wonderful bargain from a manafacturer-sink(complete with taps and everything) 10 cream painted units, Pear block interiors, all knobs, plinths etc. Woodblock worktop(the stuff that looks like its planks of wood)chrome legs(for breakfast bar) and delivery all for £625:T . With the way building firms are going DH decided it would be better to actully have the units here "just in case" as this company supplies builders, property developers and a major builders merchants. So will be even more crowded here.
Haven't got the money to get it installed as (along with the centrail heating money )was spent on trying to help Phoebe(I DO NOT regret it and would do EXACTLY the same again)
Other than that usual stuff really. Have been trying to "suss out" Brighton. The tourist department is truthfully woefull.
Am going to Sheffield tonight.
Food wise breakfast was the leftover tear and share bread from last night and a cup of tea. Just had a (staleish!)mince pie and reused the tea bag(this isn't just OS its because I like my tea a pale shade od magnolia so eaisly get two cups out of one bag.
Will grab some fruit or something for later depends. DH is having beans on toast. Need to be out no later than 5 as going to avoid the M62 so going ovet the moors.
Have now got loads of PM's will answer soon. Honest.
Have a good day. A xBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.
