Morning,
SHEZ... Grab your brolly and wellies just in case.
I have 2 chickens cooking, DH got them at Morries y/day, £2.50 each, and some lentil soup in SC.
Hope to finish sewing today and hang pics up in last bedroom make-over. I'm going to paint some candle sticks and a basket to match the colour scheme. I keep the towels for that room in the basket. Windows and mirrors to clean, vacum, polish then I can close the door on another completed room.
I'm not winning with emptying the study, we have to keep paper/book work for 7yrs just incase taxman feels the need to see them.
I'm trying to sort stuff into storage boxes labled by the year and store in the attick. Oh well, won't get it done sat here.
Hope it's a kind day for everyone today.0 -
Morning everyone, another newbie to the OS forum here. Well I've been lurking on here for a few months. Seems like I was brought up in an OS family as I recognise many of the methods/suggestions on here. It wasn't called OS then, it was just the norm.
Interesting reading on the Ramoska cooker, bored my other half to death with it last night.
Not too much in the way of OSing for me today, packed lunches made for me & the lad, I always go to lunch last in work, that way I get a 'free' paper. OH is doing a turkey & pea curry tonight, needs to be quick & easy as we are off to see my gran in hospital this evening.0 -

Haribo i'm back today to say please don't stop posting - I know you are fiercely defensive of your sis and your OS values and for that reason we need you on here. I have learned loads from you and you are also a lubbly mate now - please stay:A :A
Great to see Thriftlady back - you are my hero:D
Im off to see my web designer later today and as well as revamping a very tired web site for me he is also cooking me a full roast beef dinner hows that for money saving:j :j I will be taking a posh bottle of wine and I am contemplating making (yes guys you did read that right I did say making) a pudding.
So any ideas on a pudding I can make that will be ok to travel for an hour or so and then warmed up or cooled down whatever later?? (M+S is an option if I cant come up with one:o )
House is a bit manky today so needs a bit of a spit and polish before I head off. Managed to do all my holiday washing when it was warm outside but its still hanging around hoping to get ironed:D
Right Im off to [STRIKE]watch jeremy kyle[/STRIKE] empty the dishwasher
Hugs all and Haribo come back or ill drive up and get ya;)0 -

I seem to be getting over mine ,10 days now, so i am trying to get caught up , WM is on, got at least 6 loads to do, will have to load up airer and radiators to get them dried.
DH has had to put campervan in garage as it is not running properly so they will be ringing today with the bad news!!!
Must do a meal plan as it definitley saves me money when shopping, today will be HM soup for lunch and turkey leg roast, mash, broccoli, carrots and yorkshires his evening.

Kathy, how do you do rice in the Remoska, I wondered whether I could do a curry in one part and rice in the other if I use my separater pan ?
Hi Charlie - rice is so easy in the Remoska! However much you need, you just use one part rice to two parts boiling water. For just the two of us here I use one cup rice, two cups boiling water. I find it takes around 30 minutes so I set my timer to check it after fifteen minutes, to see how it's doing. It takes longer than it would take any other way but it just seems so much simpler, like everything does in the Remoska! It turns out really nice and fluffy. You could easily do it in the separator but I just make mine in a glass bowl and then just either keep it warm or reheat in the microwave.

Hello everyone:hello: ,a bit dull here but dry so far.
Welcome new people, you'll like it here.
I'm still catching up on the housework after nearly 2 weeks of the lurgy. My brilliant scheme for drying the washing in the garage where the boiler is has backfired as the boiler packed up and we had to get an engineer in this morning.DH thinks perhaps it got condensation in it so I have to stop.So its back to the TD for me unfortunately- we dont have radiators downstairs, and upstairs there isnt a gap behing them to drape stuff on so it falls off.I have been trying the line but i think there are too many trees around to get a good blow to get it dry.Ah well....
Turkey breast joint for tea tonight, its quite a big one I got from Costco so there will be enough left to freeze, but I can't decide where to cook it (Remoska or not)
P-P We have an American f/f and its great ( someone gave it to us as it wouldn't fit their new kitchen- which was even better)The freezer section isnt massive so I still have my chest freezer in the garage, but I suppose diff models vary.My son loves the water thingy, and I like the ice cubes on tap.I do have to be careful I don't lose things till theyve gone bad, there's so much space!I think its a Whirlpool make.
Seems like cardmaking is on the agenda in a few homes this aft, that's what I'll be doing too.I find it really relaxing, can spend hours messing then I wonder where the day has gone
Hope everyone has a nice day.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Morning all,
Just sitting back and relaxing. DGS is sound asleep. :T It's also raining so I'm glad I didn't water this arv. A storm was predicted but that means nothing. Did the usual house clean this morning and scrubbed our outdoor table setting. I noticed mildew in a few places yesterday. Getting ready for the bbq season.I'm thinking of hosting a Xmas party for our street & a few others we've befriended on the island.
DGS arrived after lunch and we bottled the elderflower cordial, played & I did some sewing. After our arv tea we went down and cut back some shrubs that needed them. He has a little wheelbarrow and likes to help.Tea was eggplant fritters, pasta salad & veg with leftover rockmelon & icecream. I wish I had bought 2 as they were so sweet. Typical.
 to the new posters.
glitterycloud What is a SAD box?
Heidiboo I find the ringbinder & dividers work well. I've had to make 2 folders as I've accumulated so many veggie recipes. I really need to sort them out. They are both a big mess atm.
Haribo:grouphug:
Well off to have a bit of a surf and then hit the sack. Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those not feeling well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
