Shame that reduces the playback picture quality :-(
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

    Wow!
Changed Settings>config>tvout from RGB to CVBS earler tonight, and have been flicking channels up and down, and no problem so far. Ive even played some recordings and flicked up and down , hitting channel numbers etc and fantastic! Not one "No Signal" or blank screen!
Now Im not countin my chickens, but it looks better.
Can anyone else try this out?
Is anyone still having problems even with tvout set to cvbs?

Still good. Not one single No Signal, and ive been really thrashing the channel changing.

    !!!!!!! spoke too soon!
Just after midnight it went no signal. But it has seemed to reduce the problem, so i'll leave it on CVBS and see how it goes.

Like tecstar, I'll keep my fingers crossed, but we only had one, very brief, 'No Signal' message (5 seconds) last night with CVBS.

As I don't have a digital mindset, the picture quality seemed unchanged from the RGB version.

I must say when I saw your previous post last night I didn't think it would be too long before you had a NSR. This problem is so so variable it is very easy to convince yourself that you have done something to make a difference.

I am leaving the auto update off for the time being though as I have not had a lock-up in standby since I changed that setting. It will take some time to prove that one way or the other as lock-ups were infrequent previously. I don't have a lot of confidence that it will make a difference as the lock-ups appear to happen at random times not related to the assumed 3:00 am check for updates timing.

Had the dreaded 'no sigmal' last evening, went back to analogue viewing but it did record a timed programme. Later viewed recorded prog without problem and by then the digi picture had returned, very frustrating. If the next software update doesn't fix it, whenever that is - hopefully in a few weeks- then it will go back to Aldi
  • After 2 weeks with no problems mine has had the clock time freeze 4 times in 2 days......grrrrrrrr

  • Am I a lucky one??? I bought the pvr101 2 weeks ago and (touch wood) I haven't experienced any of the problems that I've read about in this thread. -- HOWEVER ! -- The problem that I am getting is that with the freeview box in s/by my TV randomly switches to AV2 (this is the one I use for the box) from AV1 (which I use for my connection to NTL cable service). If I switch the AV connections then the problem is reversed -- randomly switching to AV1 from AV2. ---- any suggestions!!!
