Ref: my previous post about suddenly getting the time freeze four times in 2 days after 2 weeks of no problems, checked to make sure the update today was not a new one and found that auto update had somehow turned itself back on!!! the beast has a mind of its own. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Thanks.........I'll try again as it didn't work for me last time0
-
The Technosonic help desk now has a recorded message for PVR101 owners saying that "there will be an upgrade on or before the 5th February that will fix the current problems".
Sounds promising!0 -
There's hope yet with the update but last I had a new problem (to me anyway) having recorded earlier in the day went to find it, pressed play, machine indicated 'play' but actually locked up and I had to turn it off to reboot etc?0

I completely filled the hard disk this evening and the last recording was BBC1's The Virgin Queen for my wife.
Guess what happened - the disk now shows five nil duration recordings for The Virgin Queen numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, timed at 1 minute intervals at just before 10pm, all 20+ recordings previously on the disk have disappeared and there is only 50MB left on the disk - any ideas anyone???? - GRRRRR.
Is this yet another fault?
Thanks
Eric
PS - I'm in deep doo-doo with the wife now - where can I find her programme on the Web?

i know the digifusion has been talked about before but i cant find the posts (well there are 75 pages!)
there is one in the new argos catalogue for £94.99 , a digifusion , i think , does anyone recomend this if i take my pvr101 back?
This digifusion is new, single tuner only and appears to be a rebadged Goodmans and similar to a Comet comes from Access Devices. the Freeway pvr2 http://www.accessdevices.co.uk/dvb-products.php
There is also a twin tuner 80g Digifusion 145t for £129, which bears similarites to the one we know, the pvr 101. Strangely there is no mention on the digifusion site and Argos have no stock, watch this space
Being discussed on digital spy.

The single tuner Access Devices unit being marketed by Fusion is actually their FreeWayPVR electronics and software but it is in their FreeWayPVR2 case. Only the latter unit has twin tuners but because of the use of the different boxes thsi has added to the single/twin tuner confusion.

My first post here, although I have been following the thread since my box started playing up - i.e. the day I got it!
Thanks to all those of you who have been so dilligently recording all the weird and wonderful behaviour of the PVR101.
I guess we are all optimistic that the V1.2 update will sort everything out. I must admit to being doubtful not least because of the instruction on the helpline ....To receive the update please have your unit in standby when not in use and the upgrade will happen automatically
I think I'm probably in line with the majority of you in that I could put up with all the minor niggles (although the lip-sync problem is very annoying ... got so bad last evening that even my wife noticed it) if they can only sort out the No Signal thing.
If V1.2 can do this there will be a stay of execution from most of us I guess - if not, will anyone keep theirs?
One other question. Has ANYONE reading this forum NEVER had a single NO SIGNAL error?0 -

im getting it everyday now and its really starting to do the missus head in....she wants it sent back pronto!mmmm free stufffffffff0 -
I've noticed the last few says when in the EPG (not always mind) that programmes are duplicated in the "list view". I.E. when theres about 6 programmes listed. Saturday night for example I was setting it for Match of the Day as we were going out and it was listed twice separated by other programmes. Selecting it for recording highlighted both. Recorded ok though. Might try a hard reset to see if it clears it.
Great news on a new update though as I love this box, no more adverts, no more rewinding trying to find a programme on a tape and being able to store a whole series to watch at a later date. Just wish it had a series I-link mode.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
