  • Hi
Another alternative is the Topfield 5800 pvr, 160gb hd, freeview, twin tuners, watch one channel, whilst recording another 2, pause live tv, etc, usb upgrade, excellent quality and reception, no upgrade in aerial, and best of all NO subscription to Sky.
More dearer, but a top notch pvr.

    Hope this helps

    Wow!
Changed Settings>config>tvout from RGB to CVBS earler tonight, and have been flicking channels up and down, and no problem so far. Ive even played some recordings and flicked up and down , hitting channel numbers etc and fantastic! Not one "No Signal" or blank screen!
Now Im not countin my chickens, but it looks better.
Can anyone else try this out?
Is anyone still having problems even with tvout set to cvbs?

I was concerned it might miss an update (if not now, some time in the future) so I have created a little program to put in my PC's startup group that will generate an alert when DTG schedule an update for the PVR101 on their site. If there is none scheduled it does nothing, and terminates.

I put it on the web in case anyone else would like it. You can get it at pvr101.blogspot.com

:update: I switched to CVBS last night and got a "No Signal Received" within 20 minutes.

While browsing for PVR101, I came across the attached priced at £1,763!!!! Thought we'd got a bargain, 'til I looked at the picture!

Wonder what the relationship is between a 'leg press' and a 'leg pull'???

Anyone got feedback following collection of the (in)famous 6 machines?

Try turning off "automatic updates". I think it checks more than once a day for updates, and maybe this is causing the hangs. I've not had a hang since It turned it off a few days ago.

Tried turning off auto update yesterday but it still froze last evening at 20:11 which is quite random. I'll probably just leave it ON until the next update and hope that fixes it.

I've tried the trick of resetting the TVOUT to CVBS today and so far I've not got a No Signal message. I'll report back tomorrow morning!!!
