At the moment Maplin have an outdoor Digital Aerial in their sale at £19.99 reduced from £50. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97488&C=Newsletter&U=07P01-2_Office&T=-11016834 I bought one thinking it might improve the signal over my 30+ year old aerial. All I can say is don't bother getting one as it is crap and was never, ever, worth £50 and is not even worth the £19.99 sale price. It comes supplied with a cable which is 3 metres long!! WOW an outdoor aerial with 3m of cable. Might be okay if you live in a caravan! Has a non standard fitting on the aerial end too so if using a junction box the signal will be degraded. I thought I may be able to improve my signal but instead just wasted £20.

My, my...two months with no comments! Is everybody happy???

Has anyone got any news about the so-called version 2.0 of the software? Was supposed to be in the pipeline to cure the jerky FF and FR on recordings amongst other things.

Heh, I thought this was a dead thread

Mine is working pretty much OK. I don't know if I have the FFWD problems, as I never use it! I only use the 2 minute skip.

Being able to record 2 channels at the same time is useful, and seems to be maybe 95% reliable.

I don't know anything about version 2.0, but you can bet there will be more versions, as the firmware is in so many devices now. The PVR101 was obviously the beta test platform!

The thing bugging me is that if I record two things at once the channel can't be changed until the second one has finished recording. Doing a manual record also seems fiddly, to set a countdown timer it seems that you have to record the same programme twice, cancel the second one and then it allows you to set the time for the first one. What a faff, unless someone knows a better way to do it.
Personally I prefered 1.6 and would not have installed the 1.9 version. Trouble was it didn't ask me, it just installed itself!

Hi Lorian. The only problem with the 2-min skip is that sometimes the adverts are 3 mins! Which means needing to use the FF or FR to get back to the action. And, with the jerky software, it ends up like a ping-pong game!

We also get an occasional 'freeze' - needing a reboot. But when you've lived with 'Windows', that doesn't seem a problem!

Looking at DS it looks like they are testing fixes for the jerks, so we should get an update sometime. I've lost contact with my insider, so I don't really know whats going on more than that.

Downloaded this morning, took about 10 minutes. Jerky fast forward problem now solved but fast rewind seems to run at the same speed whichever setting is used. Radio recordings still impossible to rewind, using rewind button just fast forwards!! That's a drag as I record as much radio as TV and I would like it to be right. Probably the best software so far though and hats off to Technosonic for sticking with it.

i cant believe this thread is still going!
anyway glad it is as i have a problem now...ive tried searching but not found anything.
it seem to have upgraded itself to v.2.0(uk)52 but whenever i set a recording and go back to watching tv i get a no signal blue box and have to reset the pvr with the switch on the back to get it right again.
    anyone else found this happening?
    mmmm free stufffffffff :p
