Same as everyone, mine (Tevion PVR 801) keeps giving the 'No Signal' message and the picture/sound starts breaking up - cured by power on/off but as it makes recordings hit and miss it's pretty much useless.
Have you tried just setting to standby to cure the No Signal bug? That usually works. Regarding reccording the occurrence of the No Signal bug does not necessarily affect recordings. There is not actually a loss of signal, just that the box falsely detects one and blanks the watch signal. There are other bugs which can affect recordings but they are much less frequent generally.

Sorry, that's what I meant - I switch off/on using the Standby button on the remote.

As for the recordings well it appears timed recording isn't working at all for me, tried a couple the other day which didn't work so have just experimented again this morning - tried to record using timer on Channel 5 whilst watching Channel 5, nothing happened - tried again to record Channel 5 whilst watching another channel, same problem.

The timers did show in the Timers menu and both disappeared after the allotted period but zilch in the way of actually recording.

I saw your post on Digital Spy from which I gather your recording problem is only on Channel 5. I recall seeing others in the past with the same problem. I believe the solution is to do a manual search for that Channel or maybe a First Time Install. Never had that problem myself but I expect someone who know the answer will reply on DS or on here.

    Nice one!

A manual install appears to have fettled it.

Think I'll keep a hold of it now and see if the (DS) rumoured update materialises.

    Cheers Colin,

I just gave up on the PVR101. I'm submitting a claim on my extended warranty.

The last straw was asking Key Technologies for help on the latest problem and being referred to advice I'd posted in another forum!

Technotrend's software development for this box has been shocking

Lorian, did the PVR101 have a 3 year warranty? I'm having endless nightmares with mine, picture constantly breaking up and everybody has a blue face  so can I return it due to all the known probs they have had?
    I haven't got one!

My boss returned his a few weeks ago and got a full refund. He bought today's offer which incidentally has very good write-ups. Whilst he was in the queue this morning, a number of other people had returned their Technosonic's and they knew many other people who had done the same.

No it didn't, the no signal problem is directly related to the v2.0 firmware update.

There is going to be an Over The Air(OTA) upgrade to v2.1 firmware broadcast on June 23rd which, it is stated, will cure the no signal problem.

There's a thread over on Digital Spy forums that you might want to monitor in case the date changes (it already has from the 24th): http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=594455
