Oh I love a bit of time to myself too, just to potter about - it annoys me now that Dad has retired he's in the house all the time, hope I don't get like that with OH!

Looking at June really I think, I'll have my £1000 by then and will feel more prepared for it. Very excited.

Hey CMD I want to pick your brains about Edinburgh! I'm off there next Thursday for one night (£19 Travelodge deal!) we'll arrive about 11am and leave again about 4pm next day. I've already been to the castle and zoo, and Princes St etc. I have a 2for1 voucher for the Dungeon, is that worth it? I copied some info you gave to Dinah a while back and have just been looking over it. You mention Arthur's Seat but I'm not sure what this is? Are there any must-sees/dos that I haven't thought of? What's Holyrood House like?

I'm thinking the Monster Mash cafe for a breakfast perhaps on the Friday :D And can you re-recommend some hearty pubs and remind me where they are - I think you're referring to previous posts in the bit I copied! Thanks for any input you can give!!

June sounds like a realistic date for you to move in and not too far away either :)

I loved the dungeons and think it was great fun, if a bit tacky!

Not sure if Monster Mash will be open for breakfast, it is a more wholesome lunch/dinner place!

Make sure you get the number 22 and go down to The Shore in Leith. There are some lovely pubs and restaurants. You can go as far as Ocean Terminal and then walk back to the shore. It is back behind the Holiday Inn or ask anyone!

Relish on Constitution Street has the most amazing chicken and pesto sandwiches. It is a deli and only has a few seats but great atmosphere and lovely hot chocolate. Then Sofi's on Henderson Street is a great pub (all in Leith).

For wholesome food, I would go to Rose Street (Dirty Dicks etc etc) or Monster Mash. You will find nice pub grub in The Shore (Leith) as well.

Arthurs Seat is a big hill and is in the Newington area. It all depends what you like doing but I would defo go to Leith (The Shore) and have a walk around there as it is lovely. Look out for the shop called Flux on Bernard Street (The Shore)., They have amazing stuff in there.

Let me know if you need anymore info!

Only you know if you'll enjoy the dungeons, I absolutely hated it. Lots of audience participation, and I can't even handle street performers!

My Mum absolutely hated the dungeons as well. She was hauled up in front of the judge and found the whole thing too gory!

Yep - when I went to the London dungeon I had someone sing to me. It freaked me out but I liked it at the same time.
    I escaped it in Edinburgh!

I would have hit one of the blokes who tried to grab me if NIM hadn't restrained me, personal space is not a concept they subscribe to!
