Jabberwock, I think Twink was trying to lighten the mood of this thread rather than have a go at anyone. See Candygirls reply to Twinks post. It is a bit of OS Daily humour that's all.
Seeeeeeeee we know how to enjoy ourselves on OS:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ;)

    Hi Twink,
just to clarify, was the above statement directed at me or the thread in general?
    Thanks

Right as you have decided to make this personal and actually gone to the trouble of looking up my back posts for ammunition.(The words get a life come immediately to mind)
I'm surprised you haven't pointed out how many times you have been thanked as well.
But as one of you friends has already pointed out on this thread they thank every single post in the Daily Thread. Which makes a mockery of the thanks system. It is just a cliquey love in thread.

And by the way pet the sodastream thread is appropriate and on topic it is a consumer thread on a consumer forum where we are sharing information about a company which is ripping off its customers.
And if the board guides started a thread asking your opinions on it then you would be entitled to state your opinion
And again which part of, the board guides asked for our opinions are you having problems understanding.

And as for the weightloss thread I wouldn't know anything about it I have never posted in it.

And again your nasty !!!!!y lets make it personal attitude is sums up why I wish it was in the chat forum with the rest of the chatter threads.

Haven't read past this post yet as contrary to your belief, I do have a life and haven't been online since this morning. When you said that the Daily was a pointless thread I looked to see what kind of threads you did find useful. That is how I mentioned the soda stream thread. If you think that is a personal attack then may I suggest that maybe it's not just me who needs to "get a life. "

And I couldn't give two hoots who thanks me. The thanks button is rarely used on MSE for it's intended purpose but most of us just don't care. Those who desire a high thanks count usually shout loudest about this issue.
  • as twink doesnt have a bad bone in her body i would say she is trying to make light of the thread, but if you wanna start having a go at her, then you have to go through me first:mad:
    Hi Princess pixiedust,
Having already admitted that I am somewhat of an "outsider" I merely asked for clarification on Twink's post, particularly as it was posted just minutes after my own.
Thank you for your invitation to go "through" you, however at this point I feel I will decline and will chalk this down to youthful enthusiasm on your part:p
    Regards

Lilibeth, I think it's me you are referring to above, I am at a loss to understand why thanking every post on the thread is a problem. Is there a rule I don't know about that says you shouldn't thank every post. I am a fairly new poster, have I missed this?

You have my sympathy, you will never please all the people all the time.
Personally I read a thread if it interests me & not if it doesn't.

Who rarely thanks anyone becaise her thanks button is a bit tempremental.

    Hi
I can't help feeling that this this is all getting a bit too personal now, well, I suppose that's natural because everyone seems to have a strong opinion on the question posed.
I also can't help feeling that this has all been "manufactured"................particularly since there seems to be little or no input from the OP.........I know I haven't posted much in the past and now it seems as though every post I put on here is controversial, but I really do think that as this debate was started by the Board Guides a little input from them (other than shaking their heads in disgust and walking away,) may be appreciated.
    Respect

Don't attack the BGs over this. They were approached by pm and posted this thread to get an overview of the general opinion. Who can blame them for being fed up when all that happens is the level of bitterness we have seen here today? They do a fantastic job, IN THEIR OWN TIME AND FOR NO PAY!!!!!

Give them a break and don't criticise them for remaining as impartial as they can.

Don't worry, it happens on some threads, especially the daily one. The thanks button was introduced to tidy the boards. If someone posted an answer to a question or gave some useful information, instead of having three or four people writing "Thank you for posting that link, it's just what I wanted to know" or whatever, they could click Thanks.

It also meant you could scan down the boards and find the posts with answers and it gave credibility to posters who do give helpful, advice, links etc.

Now it's become a 'I'm here' or 'Hi' button, and so it's meaningless which is a shame.

    Hi Princess pixiedust,
Perceptions can be funny things (entirely subjective) which is why I asked Twink for clarification rather than going in with all guns blazing, I think you will find that at no time was I rude or insulting in my post to Twink and therefore am slightly bemused by your response to me.
    Regards again
