Happy Birthday Toots! I hope I have the right day. Welcome to all the new flyladies and flymen!

Emily-I hope your DH is okay

I am having to ration the amount of time I spend on here or I get absolutely nothing done. So today's list is completed!

I am now in the middle of doing an online application for training for DS3. I know he should do it himself but he did it all yesterday and I deleted it!

Right must go and start on tomorrow's list. I won't have time for it tomorrow. We have DDs prospective FIL coming tomorrow and we haven't met yet so I want to make a good impression. Tomorrow will be a bit of dash round all my beautiful clean rooms just to make sure they are okay. DS3 can help as he isn't at work tomorrow. Thanks pigpen and lil_me , I would never have had an organised house if it wasn't for you getting me started.

    Hi Cardiff

    Tonight I have

    Cooked dinner and washed up
Ironed a great heap of stuff
    Swept the kitchen floor
Wrapped up a parcel, with the help of cat1, who thinks stick tape roll is something he can play with!

OH still not talking to me, I have tried, I'm going to ignore him!!! I'll talk to the cats instead, I might get more of a conversation.

yay.gifHOORAY, I had a phone call today from a swimming instructor who can fit DD in on a Mon night, at last, i have been ringing round everywhere. She had her name down since she was 2 1/2 at the local comps swimming pool, same time as a fiends DD, any way friend informed me 3 months ago that she had had a phone call saying her DD could start, i got the womans phone no. and rang her .
She told me that she must have lost my form and that she had no more spaces till next septgaah.gif, well sorry but she will be nearly 7 by then, it seems to be a nightmare to get lessons round here. Some of the parents are even going into Cardiff after school for lessons( OH, HI CARDIFF) wave2.gif
right rant over, she has lessons and thats the main thing!!!!
Just one query is £12 for HH one to one lesson the average?

Hi to the newbies - you'll love it here.

I'm all set for tomorrow now apart from cleaning the bathrooms in the morning. Have put the kids to bed for an early night as we have a long day tomorrow.

Make sure you all keep up the hard work whilst I'm away - I'll think about you while I'm lazing by the pool lol

See you in a couple of weeks.

    Hi Jue! :hello:

I still haven't done anything other than collect the boys. and eat the chocolate fingers, whoops :o

Pigpen - what about adding something to the first post to say that newbies are welcome to join in any time and that it would be nice if they did a little intro to say they were a newbie like LilySue suggests above?

Cat is sat in front of the monitor so I cant see what I am typing. Do you think he is after something?

Triker (or anyone else with hens) - are your hens laying at the moment? We haven't had any eggs for 4 or 5 days and I can't find them hidden in the garden anywhere. My first year of keeping them so not sure if this is normal?

Yes still getting 1 or 2 eggs a day from 2 chickens. With the days getting shorter they do tend to go off lay for a while.:D

    Evening all

And :hello: to the new people.

I'm just passing through - haven't had time to do the thanks thing properly - time has run away with me again. But, I do have a chicken casserole in the oven and the potential for the shower being fixed tomorrow :D. DiL's father came over this evening. Seems the old one has died a seriously electrical death . It needs replacing completely.

But, he reckons if he can find one exactly the same, there'll be no need for any tile rework or anything. He's talking about coming round tomorrow afternoon and doing it. (DiL will be in until about 4pm and then DS is home by 4.30pm) - he's a little treasure really. I have insisted that he keeps the receipt and I'll refund him. He shook his head a bit but I think I got through (he's not from this country and there's a bit of a language barrier occasionally).

If he doesn't accept any payment for labour I shall just insist they all come over for dinner in a couple weeks - repay them in kind (they don't really drink alcohol, but they do like to eat!)

Good news and bad news on the work/community front. I've managed to catch up with my work load so have been granted Friday off as well. This means I can wake up leisurely on Friday morning and pack in a relaxed manner before heading off not long after lunch. Also, DD has said she'll join me for Saturday afternoon through until late Sunday afternoon so that will be nice. She was half planning to go to London for the weekend to see some friends but has decided she can't afford it. I just need to plan a spankingly wonderful Saturday night dinner for her. It'll be nice having just her and me and the dog - a bit of quality time together - we've not had that for what seems like years.

Bad news on the community front is that I came home today to find an email asking me if I'll go somewhere next Tuesday late afternoon and give a small presentation. Seems no-one else who has enough knowledge on the subject can attend.

I've emailed back and said well, if I typed something up, is there anyone else who can just read what I typed? But, I have a sort of resigned feeling that I will be driving back from holiday on Tuesday afternoon to speak for a short while and then going back on holiday again. It is a very important - just about crucial - meeting. (All to do with a planning app I was wittering about a few weeks ago).

Ahh me, such is voluntary - I sometimes really envy Boddy with her meeting and greeting - at least when she hangs up her badge at the end of her stint, she knows she's off duty (at least that's the way I see it Boddy, I may be wrong)

But, better go and peel some spuds to complement the chicken casserole..

  • Hi to all the newbies!!!!

I'm a bit rubbish with names so I'm saying hi collectively!!!! :hello:

I'm going to do the post that tells you the lie of the land!!!! Usually someone fills new comers in... often it's toots but it's her birthday today, so I'm hoping she's somewhere having a good time.

Pigpen's the boss, complete with 'get a grip medicine' and an occasional dose of 'kick up the bum' and fluffy mules that she flings periodically!

Pigpen updates the list every evening, with the next day's tasks. Don't feel you've got to do everything on the list, the point is that you're doing something targeted rather than tons of jobs all over the house. The thread is updated every Sunday night, and we all start again with a brand new list for Monday! Every room will come round again, so if you don't do brilliantly one day, it'll be there again next week.

On the other hand, if you do really well, then next week it'll be that bit easier for you. :j :j :j :j

Toots' favourite saying is that the house didn't get in a mess overnight, so it'll take a while to sort it out. Babysteps is the way to go, a bit at a time!

HHC's are brilliant for cracking on with stuff, and you'll be amazed what you can achieve in 30mins. Particularly when you're working along side someone else... allbeit someone in adifferent part of the country to your self. :T

The 1st post from pigpen each week explains the whys and wherefores!!!!

*Welcome aboard*.... and stay away from the crazy American flylady stuff, it'll send you bonkers!!! We're much friendlier here! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
