  • I have made a decision - having posted my list regarding the bedroom fro today I went to bed last night and while I was waiting to fall asleep I realised there was no way I was going to manage it all today!:sad:
thanks to the thread and everybody I realise that I have to do babysteps to achieve what I want - much as I would like to work the way I used too 8 years ago I have to accept that I am not fit to anymore - frustrating as it is its a fact!! I would be end up totally knackered after a day and then take days to recover before i could do any more and so on and so on..... and in the meantime the rest of the jobs would not get done either.
So ...... I am going to make my list for today into my list for the week and hopefully by next sunday the bedroom will be transformed:rolleyes:  I will try to do a bit everyday along with pigpens list and that way I will not get totally overwhelmed and depressed! Does that make sense and sound reasonable to you???

I also want to take advantage of the free listing day today on ebay and get rid of the last of toxic's stuff and some of my own - found loads yesterday when I started on the bedroom!!!!

    toots xx

Pigpen - maybe you could tell your family that if they pull their weight in the house you might just think they're interested enough in you going to Uni for it being worth discussing with them. They need to show some commitment to supporting you before you can commit to uni (or move into halls when you go... only one room to keep tidy then :D ... and they can fend for themselves)

Toots - hope the carpet laying is going well. Take is slowly, and remember, the added bonus is that your bedroom will have had a deep clean and be incredibly easy to keep on top of from now on

I've just started working through my paperwork... house insurance needs renewing  , so I'm going to put a load of washing in, mop the upstairs floors and come back in here while they dry to get all the quotes together. I don't really understand how there can be £300 between the cheapest and my current quote

Well done Toots, that sounds very sensible. It'll be irritating for a week having all the stuff in other rooms, and having to camp (assuming that at some point you'll have no bed :p ), but it'll be worth it, as you'll be able to do the job properly rather than rushing it AND you won't write of the whole of next week from exhaustion.

The threat of me moving into halls might be enough to stir them up lol.. ta..

That sounds like a grand idea.. even if you only manage level 1 and one extra it is more than you'll get done if you burn yourself out today.. :D..

I'm off to gut bedrooms today and I don't care if hubby wants to paint doors I NEED the upstairs presentable it is really starting to annoy me!
